Take note that as of two Rules Reference updates it is now Range 4 and only 26 points, a real bargain at this price. Being Range 4 helps keep them out of the way of where most of the shooting happens, at range 3. With your very soft boys any way to keep them out of the line of fire should be taken advantage of.

The Rebel Alliance can recruit new members from across the galaxy, finding pilots, soldiers, and medics among those who hate the Empire. Plenty of beings can take up a blaster rifle to fight Stormtroopers, but there are a few who are willing to push the boundaries and do whatever it takes to keep the Rebellion alive. Saboteurs. Snipers. The Rebel Alliance's most dangerous operatives now entering the infantry battles played out in your games of Star Wars: Legion. For newer players, make sure you know that the card has been errata’d these are range 5 now, effectively making them snipers. Which is good because they can’t move. As emplacement troopers you want them to go early to get a standby set up because of their built in Sentinel. Place them on a good vantage point to guard your objectives and dare your enemy to come forward. Heavy S- Highly competitive. These are units that should feature in most serious competitive Rebel lists, and if you aren’t running them, you have a very specific build in mind and a good reason to exclude them. Leia has always had solid support abilities and a decent enough command hand (especially No Time for Sorrows) and now she comes at a very affordable cost after the last points update. If you can afford it and have space in your command hand, Leia is well worth the upgrade over a generic officer. Generic Officer Tier lists like this one are meant primarily to drive discussion. These are just my opinions. If you disagree, let me know in the comments!

Step 6: Drybrushing

Comes with the box and you can consider them a pair, honestly. You can’t bring one without the Rebel Veterans but they rather cozily occupy a second corps slot, giving you two of your three right out of the gate. And of course, perhaps the most entertaining way you can customize your army is by painting and customizing your miniatures! All Star WarsLegion minis come unpainted, so after you assemble your army, you’ll be able to paint your miniatures into something that only you could have created. Although you don’t need to paint your miniatures, many players find it more enjoyable to play with a painted army, and even if you’ve never painted an army of miniatures before, Star WarsLegion is the perfect introduction to the hobby. Rex– Rex is amazing commander that works real well with your corp units. He can really help you lay down some damage early in the game. Ultimately, Star WarsLegion is more than just a game—it’s an invitation to create an army that only you could have built, gathering troopers, vehicles, and iconic characters from the Star Wars saga and pitting them against your opponent’s army in battle. The first step in building your army is to select your side and choose the units that will make up your army. Even within the Core Set, you already have impactful choices to make with units of Rebel Troopers and Stormtroopers, along with 74-Z Speeder Bikes, an AT-RT, Darth Vader, and Luke Skywalker. You may be planning to play out a small-scale skirmish between just a few units or a massive battle, but either way, the units that you choose are the foundation of your army. These units all do something interesting but probably have cheaper and/or stronger alternatives above. Lando

Commando Squad–You’ll want 2, even 3 of these guys. You’re only bringing them for the 2 man Sniper Strike teams, but their purpose may not be clear from the outset. In Legion, more activations generally is better, which sometimes means you need to engage in some list padding. Strike teams are your cheapest option, and pretty effective too. They don’t do a ton of damage, but with High Velocity, Pierce and Sharpshooter it’s generally a reliable 1-2 damage and suppression to try and disrupt a unit. More importantly, it lets you delay activating your key units, so they don’t need to walk out into the open and get shot up. Unless you have other special forces you want to use, almost any list can benefit from 2-3 Strike Teams.Courage 1: Woof. Rebels don’t get any Courage 2 corps as a baseline even if these guys seem like the ones who should. As a result you have to worry about the same problem every other Galactic Civil War corps does: don’t let yourself get pinned down.

The rebel alliance’s biggest strength has been it’s vast number of hero options. The number of S tier heroes outpaces every other faction, which means that by sheer number alone the Rebels will have some winners here. You may not get some of the greats like Cassian or Lando but you got enough here to work with. Leia Organa Rebel Commando Strike Team – Every party has a sniper that’s why we invited you. These are great clean up crew and cheap activation for a tactical play list. Saboteurs. Snipers. The Rebel Alliance’s most dangerous operatives—now entering the infantry battles played out in your games of Star Wars: Legion. Within this expansion, you’ll find seven unique unpainted Rebel Veteran miniatures to add to your collection, including a Mark II Medium Blaster Trooper miniature that can be deployed as a detachment, offering valuable fire support to all of your units. Accompanying these miniatures are two unit cards, a selection of upgrade cards allowing you to outfit your veterans with new weapons and gear, and all the tokens you need to add them to your Rebel armies! Add even more personnel to your fight against the Empire. Inspire your troops with an Ishi Tib Rebel Trooper Captain or make your unit even more versatile with a Gran Rebel Trooper Specialist.Bossk– Bossk is a versatile piece that has range, options and is tough as nails. Adding the lizard to your army is a huge upgrade. Fantasy Flight Games is happy to announce the Limited Edition Luke Skywalker Commander Expansion, available soon at your local retailer!
