Description

Lives in poor conditions for almost fifteen years selling tsukudani (little fishes cooked in soy sauce) from door to door.

His influence on origami cannot be overstated and he is revered by the creative giants of the paper-folding world who have followed in his footsteps. I was asked to sign the visitors' book, the first entry not in Japanese, and then I had my first sight of the exhibition, being first confronted by two large flying dragons and a large and impressive model of Godzilla. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Part of the exhibition was displayed on tables protected by transparent plastic shields rising about eighteen inches above the surface of the display table so that one could look over them and see the models directly. They were delightfully named the "nightingale" floors and that is how they sounded as we walked along them. Origami has evolved into a sophisticated global art form thanks to the creativity and generous spirit of Akira Yoshizawa.

It teaches the reader how to make the origami pieces in the book, though the origami in this book is not easy. He was known to say that, "When you fold, the ritual and the act of creation is more important than the final result. Asahi Graph, a magazine specialized in big photograph productions, asks him to reproduce the twelve animals of the oriental zodiac in origami, for the edition of January, 1952. It also includes several in-depth articles about Yoshizawa, as well as many photos of his work, posters from his exhibitions and more.Every kind of animal and bird was represented and I can do no more than mention a few that caught my eye.

Se trata de verdaderas esculturas artísticas que poseen toda la filosofía, delicadeza y belleza de la esencia de un país, Japón, que rinde culto al refinamiento y al cultivo de la paciencia. Robert Harbin quoted Gershon Legman as saying that Akira Yoshizawa was "far and away the greatest folder in the world and devoted to this delicate and graceful art form to an extent which it is hardly possible to believe". An attractive children’s book in full colour in a slip case, with photographs taken by Yoshizawa himself. In its edition for January, 1952, the Japanese picture magazine Asahi Graf published a series of pictures of traditional calendar signs. At that time an interest in paperfolding was newly emerging in the West and enthusiasts quickly learned about Yoshizawa and his new way of folding. She made Yoshizawa a vice-president of the Center and in April 1959 she travelled to Japan to visit him.

Prior to the chapters from the two Japanese titles, this book shows some photos of Yoshizawa’s master works, such as ones that appeared in his exhibition flyers and book covers. Akira Yoshizawa also contains an explanation of the Master's personal philosophy of origami by Yoshizawa's widow, Kiyo Yoshizawa and an insightful introduction from Robert Lang, a leading artist and exponent of origami art in the West. Used books have different signs of use and might not include supplemental materials such as CDs, Dvds, Access Codes, charts or any other extra material.

His origami work was creative enough to be included in the 1944 book Origami Shuko, by Isao Honda (本多 功). It had been well-publicised throughout Kyoto and I even saw an advertisement in a train On each occasion I attended there were many visitors thronging the hall and Yoshizawa was usually to be seen chatting to visitors young and old and explaining his work. Then most of the rest of the book is made up of Yoshizawa’s models of different types of animals and things.
