Step Back in Time Festival with plenty to see and have a go at! Displays include: Viking/Iron Age/ Medieval living history & battle re-enactments, wander around the Living History encampments & learn about the culture of these different time periods in our history & be amazed at the battles taking place in the Arena throughout the day. Children will love it!! Bring some chairs or a rug to sit on! Displays of Vintage vehicles including Classic Cars, Motorbikes dating back 100 years, Tractors, Lawnmowers, also Steam and stationery Engines , vintage televisions dating back to 1929, Cinema showing old TV programmes, domestic appliances, vintage computers going back to the 70’s. ACE Archaeology Club will be demonstrating various experimental archaeology techniques and exhibiting the results of the excavation at Moistown, the site of a medieval house. Also Car Boot Sale & some Trade stands.
Oxford’s Annual Vintage Transport Festival includes a static display of preserved buses, coaches, cars and commercials, plus frequent free vintage bus trips throughout the day.
The 44th Annual Gloucestershire Vintage & Country Extravaganza South Cerney Airfield, Cirencester 3-5 August 2018 3-5 August 2018 will see the Stroud Vintage Transport & Engine Club (SVTEC) stage their Annual Show at South Cerney Airfield in Cirencester, Gloucestershire. The show is widely regarded as one of the biggest and best Steam, Vintage and Countryside events in the UK and attracts thousands of exhibitors and visitors from across the country whilst actively raising thousands of pounds for both national and regional charities. Show Highlights include: Vintage displays of nearly 700 classic cars from pre and post war, including over 70 Classic American, plus 230 Motorbikes, scooters, 70 bicycles from 1903 – 1980, 30 miniature steam engines, 90 stationary engines, 70 full size steam engines, model engineering, 200 Tractors, over 80 Buses and Coaches, 120 Military Vehicles, 240 Emergency and Commercial Vehicles, 60 Industrial Trucks, 50 vintage Caravans and a large model Aircraft flying display. A friendly show featuring a wide range of working demonstrations, static exhibits and activities. Arranged by the Nottinghamshire Group of the National Vintage Tractor & Engine Club this show is held annually over the August Bank holiday weekend. The organisers are gearing up for this year’s event to be the biggest yet with over 700 vintage vehicle exhibits expected to make the annual pilgrimage to the show field. Exhibits include a large selection of steam engines, vintage commercial vehicles, cars, tractors, bikes, stationary engines, motoring and agricultural displays. Attractions will also include craft stalls, autojumble and many diverse trade stalls. The Sunday will see a vintage ploughing match and a local Produce Show. There really is something for all the family. The weekend will feature an action packed main arena with displays to appeal to all ages and backgrounds. Numerous catering outlets and the opportunity for a ‘proper Sunday dinner’ in the catering tent will tend to everyone’s requirements along with a fully licensed bar serving locally brewed ale and much more. Organised by an entirely volunteer committee the HSG Team have donated thousands of pounds to local charities over the years from event proceeds and rely on the support of the local Bedale Explorer Scouts to assist with car parking duties.
