Relive the amazing spirit and camaraderie of World War II and enjoy the various re-enactments, entertainment and vehicle displays along the line at Pickering, Le Visham, Goathland and Grosmont Stations. Along the line of the heritage railway the clock will be turned back when Britain was in the thick of a world war. Each station will be transformed to create a variety of scenarios including child evacuees and a cinema showing films and newsreels from the period at Pickering, Home Guard demonstrations at Goathland, with music and dance entertainment at Grosmont. Levisham will once again be transformed into the German-occupied French village of Le Visham with re-enactment displays and Café Allée du Bois. Wreath-laying ceremonies at Pickering and Grosmont stations helped to underpin a serious message over the weekend.

ON ANY SUNDAY Not content with having one star guest, this year’s show will welcome four of the cast from iconic motorcycle documentary On Any Sunday. Former racers Dave Aldana, Don Emde, Mert Lawwill and Gene Romero all had central roles in Bruce Brown’s legendary 1972 film and will all be in attendance to share stories with showgoers about the movie. As well as finding fame on the big screen, all four of the guests also took part in the Anglo-American Match Races held in the UK at circuits such as Brands Hatch, Mallory Park and Oulton Park in the 1970s. Mert Lawwill’s appearance at the show will be his first visit to the UK since that time. THE SUZUKI SECTION As this is the Mechanics show, and it’s the modern classics of the 1960s, 70s and 80s which are most celebrated, there will be a dedicated Suzuki area at this year’s event. The Suzuki Owners Club, Kettle Club, Air Cooled Suzuki (including Katana), Team Classic […]
