Statfold Barn Railway – Giant Miniature Weekend – May 11th/12th 2019 The award winning Statfold Barn Railway proudly presents its “Giant Miniature Weekend”, featuring 100 or more miniature traction engines and steam lorries in steam! Joining us from across the country will be a wide variety of steam engines in 2″ – 9″ scale as well as many related displays. The impressive narrow gauge railway will have at least 6 of its immaculate engines in steam and hauling passenger trains from Statfold Junction station. After your round trip through the fields you can leave the train at Oak Tree Halt to visit the GMW show and the amazing Roundhouse Museum. Statfold is a usually private steam railway and this is the largest steam gathering of the year, where the whole family can come along and enjoy this lovely venue. This event has grown to become one of the largest gatherings of miniature road steam in the country and we are proud to play host to such a wide variety of engines and exhibits! A two day Show featuring over 400 pre-1999 commercial vehicles at the British Motor Museum.
Suitable for the youngest of Enthusiasts! The Family Enthusiasts day is an opportunity for all keen Narrow Gauge Railway Photographers and Railway minded people to take a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the Statfold Barn Railway and the way it works. Various Statfold engines providing a regular train service from the main Station, Statfold Junction through to Oaktree Halt , around the loop and back through Oaktree to the Junction. The passenger can alight at Oaktree to visit the Narrow gauge Trust Museum to ‘take in’ not only the Static displays of locomotives but view the Round House , where the days non-working loco’s are on view, but also to see various Railway artefacts. The visitor can see and ride on the renovated Burton and Ashby Tram which runs from its own dedicated Tram Shed down to Oaktree and back. Children can enjoy rides on our swing chair rides and bouncy castle while adults sit back with a coffee from our diner. There are displays of model railways in various gauges which show the expertise of the railway modeller. Altogether, a great day! CHILDREN OF ALL AGES ARE WELCOME!
The Annual Holbeach Town & Country Fayre returns for 2019 celebrating its 25th Anniversary. The show includes hundreds of Vintage tractors, cars, commercials, motorcycles, campers & caravans, large & miniature Steam, Horticultural & Models and stationary engines. The tractor road run will return once again following a scenic route around the fields of rural Lincolnshire starting and finishing at the show field. As well as these, there is mixed selection of trade stands selling all items from agricultural tools & machinery, Pet feed, Cars, Models, Sculptures, Fresh food and many more. The craft tent has a large variety of craft stalls including wood turning, flowers, cakes and more to be confirmed. A larger ‘Fun Zone’ is sure to keep the little ones happy. The ‘Fun Zone’ consists of Hook-a-duck, bouncy castles, bouncy slides, mini waltzers, Score under 21, obstacle courses and more. 2019’s Food court has an increased variety to suit all tastes.
