He is coauthor, along with Annalyn Swan, of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize-winning de Kooning: An American Master. Figuring out how to navigate the interface to find the really interesting content takes a bit of getting used to, but it’s worth persisting, and the content is constantly growing.

The multipart exhibition places Saville’s paintings and drawings in dialogue with masterworks of the Italian Renaissance, including some of Michelangelo’s greatest masterpieces, offering a revealing encounter between the contemporary and the historical. It has a lot of footage of his studio in the Hamptons, and of him looking back through his archive and discussing his life and painting.
