The main problem with the focus wheel is it’s near impossible to do the full range in one continuous turn.

It’s petite, handles well, focuses quickly and silently, and most importantly, it is a decent performer on the optical test bench. The ring will turn forever in either direction, not being limited at the infinity or close-focusing distances. Overall, I like the fact that I don’t have to worry about which aperture to use to get a sharp photo.Good sharpness even side open over most of the image area, with some softness and fringing in the corners until you stop down around a stop and a half. I am by no means a professional photographer but I liked the results I got with this lens and my Panasonic G85. I use this lens anytime I want a shallow depth of field in photos or close up product photography (or videography). That's a small, fast, cheap, nice looking lens for sure, but I am largely held back by the many reports of slow AF (especially on Olympus bodies which is all I have), and it's maybe a little close to 25mm.

I take images for me and appreciate the affordable options the manufacturers make for the hobbiests like me. It doesn't cost you anything extra when you use these links, but it does support the site, helping keep ePHOTOzine free to use, thank you. The autofocus is very quick, so there are no cheap/compromised AF actuators in here, and if you switch to manual focus the travel is both very precise and yet very smooth. Lens flare can cause some loss of contrast especially when shooting directly into bright light sources, while multiple ghosts of bright sources can manifest themselves as colored 'blobs' that get more defined the more you stop the lens down. maximum aperture that allows for shooting low-light scenes and offers additional depth-of-field control over slower kit zooms.can focus pretty close, and quickly enough to catch this hovering bee – I’ve never caught the wings vibrating like that before.

This would reveal the IQ advantage of larger sensors while stopping so many comparisons that don't make sense because there are not always equivalent lenses between formats, only hypothetical ones (e. But the image quality is really very good indeed, the AF is fast, and this lens is so small and light you’ll hardly notice you’re carrying it.If I want to compress depth and maintain a stand off distance, I will shoot that way with a longer focal length - 'zooming with my feet' won't give me the look that I want. Length hybrid photography enabled for both photo and HD video recording with quiet and smooth fast action stepping motor focusing takes advantage of lumix mirrorless camera high speed, high precision contrast AF system. The advantage of m43 lenses is that they work, are generally small, light and comparatively inexpensive unless coated in Leica dust. I am sure that if I focus a subject really close I might see a problem - but then I would prefer to be using my dedicated vivtar 55mm F2.
