Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway 2017 Events for Timetable

  • Easter Monday 17th April – Easter Eggspress. An eggciting combination of steam trains, the Easter Bunny and a host of activities bringing Easter fun for all the family. Make your own Easter bonnet and wear it on your visit. Normal ticket prices apply.
  • Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd April – Wartime in the Cotswolds. Take a trip back in time and enjoy the railway’s nostalgic and light-hearted look at life in the Cotswolds in the 1940s. Please note that entry to the site will be by ticket only. There is no free entry.
  • Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May – Cotswold Bricks & Trains Weekend ‘Helping to Build Children’s Imaginations.’ Weekend. Organised in conjunction with the Southern Lego® Train Club. There is a Small Admission charge.
  • Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st May – Spring Steam and Real Ale Weekend at Winchcombe and Toddington. Raise a glass to real ale brewers from all over the country. Normal ticket prices for those wishing to travel, but for those planning just to sample the ales, there will be a small admission charge.
  • Saturday 27th to Bank Holiday Monday 29th May – Cotswold Festival of Steam Gala. The best steam gala for miles. Please note that entry to the site will be by ticket only. There is no free entry.
  • Sunday 11th June – Classic Vehicle Clubs Day. Combine the scene of historic road transport with a backdrop of vintage trains. Normal ticket prices for those wishing to travel, but for those just planning to admire the cars there will be a small admission charge.
  • Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June – Day Out With Thomas. Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends visit the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Please note that entry to the site will be by ticket only. There is no free entry.
  • Sunday 10th July – 9th Classic Bus Rally & Running Day. Toddington car park will be crammed with buses of every shape, type and age from throughout the region. We will be running services to Broadway Village and Station site and maybe beyond. Normal ticket prices will apply.
  • Friday 28th to Sunday 30th July – Heritage Diesel Weekend and Open Day. A chance to re-live the 60s and 70s with our superbly restored collection of heritage diesel locomotives. Please note that entry to the site will be by ticket only. There is no free entry.
  • Tuesdays 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th August – Teddy Bear Tuesdays. Ride the Teddy Bear railcar special and join the Teddy Bears at Winchcombe Station. Bring your own favourite Teddy Bear. Normal prices apply.
  • Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th August – Summer Steam and Real Ale Weekend at Winchcombe and Toddington. Raise a glass to real ale brewers from all over the country. Normal ticket prices for those wishing to travel but for those planning just to sample the ales, there will be a small admission charge.
  • Sunday 10th September – Classic Vehicle Day at Toddington primarily for Classic Car owners.
  • Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th September – Day Out With Thomas. Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends are back at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Please note that entry to the site will be by ticket only. There is no free entry.
  • Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October – Autumn Diesel Weekend. Another chance to come and see our fleet of heritage diesels. Normal Ticket Prices apply.
  • Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd October – Cotswolds Food & Drink Fayre. Large variety of Artisan Food and Drink producers from around the region will be selling their products at this new event. Normal train ticket prices apply.
  • Saturday 28th October – Halloween ‘Steam and Scream’ Special. Get ready for Hallowe’en and join the ‘Spooky Specials’ throughout the day at either Cheltenham Racecourse or Toddington Station. Come dressed for the occasion. Normal ticket prices apply.
  • 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd & 24th December – Santa Specials. Two great ways to visit Santa: either from Cheltenham Race Course by steam train all the way to Winchcombe (or the North Pole!) through the long tunnel, and visit Santa and his elves in his grotto; or from Toddington Station by an early 1960’s diesel rail car with Santa and his young elves on board the train, spending lots of time sitting with each family.
  • Friday 29th and Saturday 30th December – Mixed Traction Christmas Cracker. Two days of intensive steam and diesel running.
