The rest of the Gods came together and threw a lock of their hair down to earth, telling the humans to braid it into their hair, lending their powers to the humans.

I think this would have truly shined as pre-planned trilogy, with room for better development and world building and more evenly split POVs distribuition which would hopefully lead to higher investment on the secondary characters. With the heist and intrigue of Six of Crows and the dark fairy tale feel of The Cruel Prince, this young adult fantasy debut will have readers rooting for a pair of reluctant heroes as they take on a world-ending fae prophecy, a malicious royal plot, and, most dangerously of all, their feelings for each other. There's elements of heist, there's layers of secrecy connected to the crown, and the over arcing story is about discovering the chosen people to form a mental and spiritual connection of living, mechanical magic animals. It seems to me she would have been better off by hiding her evil deeds under a veneer of goodness (you know, like most politicians) but then that would be interesting and require a bit more character development for the queen. And a resistance that has spawned in the wake of not only her un-ending reign but also the secrets that lie beneath the surface. However, the complete phrase is, "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one. Don't pick this up expecting big thrills or a large romance plot, you'll be setting yourself up for disappointment. Soon the cast expands to an ensemble of six heroes and a diverse supporting cast of friends and foes. Jaida is a native New Yorker who spends too much time on Instagram and is currently passionate about tattoos, animal rescue, and slow fashion.

Magic plays a quiet role in this story, and readers may for a time forget there is anything supernatural going on. However, the counter-argument to this could be that it doesn't give you time to get to know the main character, Rags, but don't worry, you won't learn much about the others either. Picking an area and learning it inside-out is one way to begin a specialist career but trying lot of things can lead to self-discovery.In a way, it felt like a traditional/old school adult fantasy epic given its slower introduction to the world and its characters. The truth lays in this very specific limbo where some books wander, because the correct label would probably be "NA" but in the Book-World, it's already taken as a code word for "smut", so you can definitely not use it if it doesn't have abs on the cover.

When abbreviated as simply "jack of all trades", it is an ambiguous statement – the user's intention is then dependent on context. He prefers to think of his work as a “portfolio career” and enjoys “being able to dance between marketing/pr and event production work, especially in the summer. In Master of One, Rags finds out that sometimes being a small time thief can attract the attention of some pretty powerful people. There's also a side character, who I hope will take more of the spotlight in the next book, because she's amazing, who is trans. Also, the famous heist happened in the first 100 pages or so and I found it to be the most interesting thing about the book, and yet kind of stupid as well. However, in today's rapidly changing world, where flexibility and adaptability are becoming increasingly important, being a jack of all trades can be an advantage.
