Putting quality in focus - All LEGO components meet strict industry standards to ensure they are consistent, compatible and fun to build with: it's been that way since 1958 Yet, I'm a bit confused about the 'pink' issue. I, like others, have steered away from a lot of the Friends sets because the dominant color scheme of pink-teal just doesn't fit with most of the other Lego aesthetic that I collect. However, I have grabbed some in the excellent winter/ski resort wave and modded them to reduce their difference.This is a lovely set overall and could be added to other recently released LEGO Friends sets like the #41704 LEGO Friends Main Street Building. Or, because the building is so nice, it could be turned into a LEGO Modular Building by those who prefer more encloses structures. Either way, it’s a wonderful set with lots of potential for play, customization, and display. This building toy allows little builders to discover the joy of learning and friendships as they build and explore with the next generation of LEGO Friends. On the other side of the floor is a potter's wheel, with a nice little moving function. I like that the Friends designers always take the opportunity to add in moving functions into their sets. Spin the theater around and there’s rigging for the lights and a dressing room where characters get made up, just like at a real theater. Nevertheless, it doesn't mean I don't like pink. I just like things to look like they fit. I think girls (or whomever) have every right to have lots and lots of sets that fit their desires and dreams. Up we go to the top floor, with again no discernible way of getting there. This must be the high tech floor! On one side there's a 3-D printing station, which is fashioning a nanofig. It's unclear whether the flowers featured in the bay window are a product of the printing station. The highest level is some lovely architectural detail in sand green that features several pieces that are new in this colour. The seventh and final bag of the build is entirely dedicated ot it; which is quite reminiscent of a modular building. I love the choice of colour which really sets off the rest of the building.

The Friends mission of diversity carries on, and I think Professor Béatrice is terrific! While the Friends have travelled as a group before, I believe this is the first subtheme that has featured each Friend doing their own thing. It's a great way to incorporate all those diverse new characters and explore new venues, such as Emma visiting Paris in this set. Adding the detail of having each Friend talk to another in their sets - such as Emma talking to Stephanie here - is a really nice way to tie things together.
