Color correctors — specifically those that are peach or orange in tone — are typically used underneath concealers or foundations to cover dark circles and shadows with blue or purple tones. You'll also want to consider the formula type, the level of coverage, and the shade. FormulaHydrating and lightweight color correction makeup that layers well underneath foundations and concealers Once you’ve corrected the colors, it’s time to put on your foundation. Put it on as you normally would, but make sure you are gentle with your blending over the corrected spots. You don’t want to rub off the color correctors that you just put on. With four different shades included in this all-in-one Make Up For Ever Palette, it truly does it all. A signature blend of powders, oils, and pigments combine to create this creamy and easy-to-apply formula. “At first glance, I thought the palette might be a little powdery. Surprisingly, the texture was very creamy. There was no smudging or creasing at all after I applied it to my under-eye,” shares our tester. Apply an under-eye color corrector to your dark circles before concealer and foundation. Depending on the color or if the color corrector is enough coverage, you can skip, but it’s up to you to decide whether or not you want to add concealer or foundation on top.

You'll also want to decide between light and dark shades. There are tons of products on the market that range in color from soft peach to nearly orange. Keep in mind that lighter peach shades will help to cancel out blue and purple shadows on light and medium complexions, while deeper peach hues and orangey tones will work better on darker skin. Not only did this product come with four colors to mix-and-match, but also a small flat brush to apply it. The compact size of the kit would be easy to throw into a makeup bag for travel. The formula didn't smudge and stayed in place all day. While it did diminish our dark circles, it didn't cover them completely—even with concealer over the top. We do wish this product was more pigmented to give us the result we wanted. Consider the level of coverage you're looking for in your color corrector. There are some products that offer lightweight coverage that's sheer or transparent, and others that provide full coverage that's opaque. ShadeThis color corrector smoothed on fairly easily and a little bit of product goes a long way. The coverage was buildable and layered nicely with concealer and foundation. The wheel allowed for customizable of the final look, especially because under eye circles are rarely just one shade. This product could be good for oily skin tones as it didn't crease or move around, however our dry skinned test would it not quite hydrating enough and it did emphasize some fines around the eyes. Correct the Red: Hydrogenated Polydecene, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microcristallina), Kaolin, Phenyl Trimethicone, Polyethylene, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Ve), Phenoxyethanol, Aluminum Hydroxide, Ethylhexylglycerin MAY CONTAIN: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Red 6 Lake (CI 15851), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Yellow 6 Lake (CI 15985), Ultramarines (CI 77007) There are various types of concealers available in the market, each serving a different purpose. The most common types include color-correcting concealers, under-eye concealers, hydrating concealers, brightening concealers, and more. Yellow: A yellow color corrector can work wonders for those with olive or tan skin tones, as it brightens the under-eye area and neutralizes purple or blue hues. Master the colour-correcting techniques you’ve seen all over your social feed and camouflage discoloration with these lightweight colour correctors. Available in 5 shades, each complimentary color helps to cover dullness, red tones, blemishes, dark spots, under eye circles, and other discoloration for a range of skin tones. The long-lasting, lightweight formula layers flawlessly under foundations and concealers without caking or creasing and has a full-coverage, satin finish.
