The Carry On series contains the largest number of films of any British film franchise, and is the second longest running, albeit with a 14-year gap (1978–1992) between the 30th and 31st entries. (The James Bond film series is the longest-running, having started in 1962, four years after the first Carry On, though with fewer films.)

Worldwide first on Blu-ray! Carry On favourite Barbara Windsor makes her debut in this outrageous send-up of the James Bond movies. Fearless agent Desmond Simpkins and Charlie Bind, aided and abetted by the comely Agent Honeybutt and Agent Crump, battle against the evil powers of international bad guys STENCH and their three cronies. Carry On Cleo (1964)

Doctor Who | The respectful hat tip to Bernard Cribbins

I`ve got the first two of these, the quality is hugely improved from the old DVD releases and they are finally in the correct aspect ratio. Carry on cruising looks especially good. The problem with the upcoming third set is that three of the four films are already on blu ray. Carry On Down Under was considered when, while on holiday in Australia, Gerald Thomas scouted locations and spoke to the Australian Film Commission about a potential film. The production was abandoned when finance fell through, and a complete script written by Vince Powell is included in the book Fifty Years of Carry On. Snelgrove, Kevin (2003). The Carry On Book of Statistics. Somerset: KAS Publications. ISBN 0-9544200-0-4. Acting Headmaster William Wakefield decides to apply for a post at a new school after 20-years service at Maudlin Street Modern School. Before he can leave he must deal with a visit by a Ministry of Education Inspector, but when a senior boy pupil overhears Wakefield plans to leave at the end of term, he and his school chums plan to sabotage every endeavour that might earn Wakefield praise.

For six years Sergeant Grimshawe has been a training sergeant but never the proud leader of a Star Squad. He accepts a bet from another sergeant that in the next intake, his last before retirement, his squad will pass out top. But when he’s lumbered with a motley crew of inductees, Grimshawe suspects he hasn’t a chance of winning the bet. Carry On Nurse (1959) That probably came out as the HD restoration was by Screenbound the rights owner who also did the excellent Mary Millington BD boxset. Truly successful horror-comedies are very few and far between. Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein, Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, An American Werewolf in London, Gremlins, Shaun of the Dead. And this … the Carry On team’s fabulous take on Hammer Horror. The secret potion, or elixir, that is needed to make them work is that as well as being extremely funny, they have to take the horror seriously enough to deliver some genuine shivers. It is a delicate balancing act to spoof something whilst still delivering the necessary thrills and chills … and it’s a right old scream watching Sgt. Bung “finger” the culprits here. Carry On Sergeant (1958) is about a group of recruits doing National Service; its title, a command commonly issued by army officers to their sergeants in the course of their routine duties, was in keeping with its setting. The film was sufficiently successful to inspire a similar venture, again focusing on an established and respected profession in Carry On Nurse. When that too was successful, further forays with Carry On Teacher and Carry On Constable established the series. This initial 'pattern' was broken with the fifth film in 1961, Carry On Regardless, but it still followed a similar plot to that of many of the early films—a small group of misfit newcomers to a job make comic mistakes, but come together to succeed in the end.Barraclough, Leo (16 May 2016). Carry On Constable (1960) That Mitchell and Webb Look features the sketch "Bawdy 1970s Hospital", which portrays a stereotypical Carry On-style hospital with frequent use of double entendre, except by one doctor who has trouble fitting in as he comes out with simple obscenity, unable to understand the distinction. The head of a temp agency (Sid James) finds that all the people on his books are incapable of performing the odd jobs they are hired for.
