I wanted to love you Joop! Homme, but I don't think I'll be able to. Tested it, liked it, bought a bottle, regretted it. From the very first spritz, the assault begins. The opening notes unleash an overpowering wave of synthetic sweetness that is nothing short of nauseating. Instead of a nuanced and balanced composition, Joop! Homme bombards the senses with a syrupy, cloying cloud that lingers excessively, refusing to fade into anything remotely tolerable. Joop! Homme Absoluteis a moody autumn/winter fragrance that leans towards evening wear. This scent smells classy, so ideal for eating out, date night, bars and clubs. This is not an office fragrance, in my humble opinion. This was a pleasant surprise. Performance on me is good as well. If this was "amped" up...it may become slightly cloying, so it is just right the way it is...IMO. They should have called it Joop Homme Evolution maybe instead of Joop Homme Perfume because it is not the same scent in higher concentration.

Simply presented in an elegant, clear-glass bottle with JOOP! Hommeemblazoned on the front. I love the way the juice inside is screaming pinky/red. I am a Joop fan unapologetically but this means i expect a lot from this perfume house. Unfortunately this particular edt is a great scent with an unacceptable performance. It barely lasts a few hours as a skin scent and the dry down is faint and this is with a very liberal application. Seems to be universally liked, does not have any off putting or polarizing notes, and not to heavy like old school Joop which was like syrup. Been asked if this is Invictus, Wanted, A new Coolwater etc...You can wear this and not fill a room or choke anybody out, but I am light on the trigger on purpose with all my fragrances. Stays as a nice skin scent at night if sprayed before work, so it has some staying power.Very nice winter Frag warm and addictive, not over powering and not a beast, it is however very long lasting and it will be there with you througout its life mostly giving a nice sillage around you and lasts days on clothes when put up to your nose. The dry down is when I started to really "like" this scent. Plummy sandalwood....and remainder of that original Joop DNA that is toned down. Where's the "ice"...???....well....not here...IMO. No matter.

Released in 2019, Joop! WOW! Intense Eau de Parfumremoves some of the original’s freshness and cranks up the powdery iris and nutty notes. The result is a true night-owl fragrance. After the first hour, I am reminded that this is indeed a Joop scent, as it begins to sweeten on the skin via that kind of ‘house signature’ Joop do, with tonka and some flowers coming through.

Last year I degraded my bottle with about 30 ml left. For sure the scent was not so good anymore. I detected more alcohol so I brought it to the garden and use it every now and then to spray in my garbage bin. I was working in the garden yesterday and decided to spray and closed the bin again. Continued my job but had a big laugh, went in and told my wife the scent was now all over our garden. A very well-crafted, eloquent sweet-powdery-woody-florally-vanilla fragrance that retains typical Joop! DNA. With Hazlenut, Cinnamon and Heliotrope to enhance the Joop! aromatic experience. This fragrance is a joy to wear, very strong opening remaining strong even after dry-down...its a great parfum! With some reticence, this frag doesn't fade fast or want to abscond. It constantly reminds me of summertime although I'm saying it would actually be very perennial. (There may be an ingredient in this that is in suntan lotion) At first I was repulsed and got an impression of an old ex-prostitute chain-smoking sex shop sales lady adding a spray each time a customer walks in, to mask the smell of cigarettes and compensate old age body odor with this in-your-face spicy, sweet smell... then begins to angrily chew on a spicy clove, as she can't smoke in the presence of customers... The longevity of Joop! Homme, though arguably its only commendable trait, becomes more of a curse than a blessing as the relentless assault on the senses endures for an uncomfortably extended period.
