Most ISPs currently use PPPoE connections with the FTTC service and this guide will cover the configuration of that on a DrayTek router with an Ethernet WAN interface.If it's going to be used to connect a router without its own modem, the Vigor 130 and Vigor 166 are ideal, they work as VDSL / G.fast to Ethernet modems out of the box.

G.fast / ADSL / VDSL Modem - DrayTek

The DrayTekVigor 130is an ADSL and VDSL modem with an Ethernet connection; it is not a router but a true ADSL/VDSL Ethernet Modem (bridge). The Vigor 130 provides compatibility with all current UK VDSL/ADSL technologies; it has been extensively tested and tuned to provide a robust and reliable DSL connection.

Provides Annex A modem code 567517 & 562301, and Annex B modem code 567617 & 567212. Recommended for Germany. (G.Vectoring) 3.9.8.4-08v With the Vigor 130 modem now configured to bridge VDSL to Ethernet with no VLAN tag added by the modem, the router can be configured to use this.

If the modem isn't connecting to the internet, then I would say that is the first thing to sort out, then worry about connecting the router to it afterwards. Now go to [Internet Access] > [MPoA / Static or Dynamic IP] and enable the MPoA (RFC1483/2684) interface.
