Description

Like most home-use treadmills, the EnduRun requires assembly. Thankfully, like other DKN treadmills, the setup is simple. The hardest part comes before starting the assembly: Getting the boxed machine with a weight of 135kg to the right place! This weight of the box is the first clue that this is a serious treadmill! After that, the assembly is simple and is complete in just four steps. The diagrams in the manual are nice and clear and while it’s certainly a two person job, there’s nothing in the slightest bit complicated about the build so we had everything ready to go in just under 30 minutes. I wouldn’t recommend the EzRun for any experienced athletes. It simply doesn’t challenge you enough through the inclines and, as well-built as it is for a folding treadmill, it is still a folding treadmill. Advanced runners would be better served with a stationary model. Finally, there is a tablet holder and a little Bluetooth button. When this is pressed (the treadmill must be in standby mode), it activates the Bluetooth chip in the console and allows the treadmill to be paired with a compatible phone or tablet. The tablet holder can hold a phone or a tablet and there are a few apps that are compatible with DKN machines such as Kinomap which provides rolling videos and controls the incline of the machine to match the gradient of the terrain in the footage. Boasting a max speed of 20kmph (that’s a 4:40min per mile pace) and a respectable 15% incline, it’s suitable for couch-to-5kers and speedsters alike. There are tonnes of pre-set workouts to choose from, or if you prefer interactive coaching, there’s a device holder and built-in speakers for streaming sessions. Alternatively, you could just binge Netflix while you get your sweat on...

The EzRun is a weighty beast, as mentioned above. In fact, it comes in at 86kg, which is more than most athletes weight. However, this gives it a rare degree of stability not often found in foldable treadmills, and there are transport wheels attached to the rear for ease of movement. There is a tablet holder and two water bottle holders (which can also double up as a handy location for storing your mobile phone if needed). All in all, it gives a lot for a little, making it one of my favourite folding treadmills in today’s market. Let’s give it the full lowdown in our DKN EzRun Treadmill review. DKN EzRun Treadmill Specs The incline works efficiently, both manual and pre-set, though it isn’t too impressive. 12% will be sufficient for most runners, but I like to get a bit quad and glute heavy, so felt a little let down. The DKN EzRun weighs in at 86kg but does have built-in transport wheels to the rear which helps with making minor adjustments to its location – for example, moving it from the corner of a room to the middle. The maximum user weight is 130kg which is line with most treadmills at this price point.

Conclusion

If you’ve previously viewed the treadmill as more of a torture device rather than a valued piece of fitness kit, it’s not entirely your fault. ‘Treadmills have got a bad rep because they’re often the first piece of equipment we use as a gym newbie,’ says Reid-Simms. ‘With so many people scared off, they get overlooked for what they’re good at.’ But your time on the tread needn’t be dull. ‘Tempo runs or interval runs are a perfect choice for the treadmill,’ running coach Reid-Simms says. However, for beginner to intermediate level runners, looking to balance training requirements with spatial comfort at home, it is perfect. It is perfect, too, for larger athletes looking to build a caloric deficit and lose weight safely and conveniently.

In terms of looks, the Omega Z really stands out. Boasting a sleek design with subtle accents, and showcasing a practical elegance that will seamlessly complement just about any room this treadmill will fit neatly into most any setting. It really does look quite unique which is something of an accomplishment as lets face it, a lot of treadmills simply look the same! The construction, unsurprisingly, feels robust and this model instils confidence in its durability from the first time you step up onto it. programmes (including 15 pre-set workout programmes designed by a certified personal trainer, 3 heart rate controlled, 3 countdown, 3 user-defined, 1 body fat) One of the best things about this folding treadmill is that it comes ready-assembled – just unbox, plug in and get running. Unlike some of the bulkier models we tested, it can also be stored completely flat, so it’s an ideal choice if you don’t want a cardio machine cluttering up your living room. Despite this larger scale, DKN have nevertheless managed to keep the EzRun’s footprint surprisingly small. Unfolded, it measures in at 183cm x 143cm x 85cm. It’s no pigmy, but it’s far more compact than its usage would suggest. Folded up, this goes down to a mere 116cm x 143cm x 85cm, making it perfectly storable. With the DKN EzRun Treadmill, you have everything you need to get fit at home. If you are looking for a running machine with a good speed capability and plenty of features, the EzRun will not disappoint. It is a Premium quality treadmill for serious training and exercising with extra wide (52cm / 20.5″) running belt with length of 140cm (55″) provides ample space for even the tallest of users.

Other features include long handles which can be re-assuring when at top speed if you need them. There is also a port for your MP3 to use with the built-in speakers which is great if you like to run to music. Programmes: 27 (18 pre-set unique workout designed by a certificated personal trainer, 3 user-defined, 3 heart rate controlled, 3 manual target modes – time, distance, calories) The mechanical incline is impressive and can be controlled manually or as part of one of the 15 pre-set programmes. While Sweatband suggests that the treadmill can be put together easily by two people (there’s heavy lifting involved), I can’t attest to this as my review model was constructed for me. I have built treadmills solo in the past though, and while I wouldn’t recommend it, it is doable. The speed can be adjusted from 1-20km/h and this makes it super easy to transition from a slow walk to a fast run. European brands come with a big advantage for buyers. In addition to the UK safety / quality certifications, they have met the Europe-wide standards too.

There’s no touchscreen, but the bright display is easy to read and shows distance, time, speed and calorie burn for each workout. The machine also has a built-in mount to fit your phone or iPad so you can distract yourself with Netflix as you get your sweat on. Or, if you fancy an interactive experience and you have a foot pod, you can connect with running apps like Strava or Zwift. Unfolding and folding the treadmill is easy and anyone can do it, so there is no need to be put off by the weight of the overall unit and the one-touch mechanical and motorised incline works effectively.Do you love premium quality fitness equipment and you are not afraid of spending a few hundred pounds for one? If you are, you should consider the DKN EzRun Treadmill. This machine comes from a recognized brand, DKN, and comes with multiple functions to give you a good workout session. While it might seem like a top-level workout machine, it offers you friendly user experience. Let’s explore it more to learn about its functionality and delivery. EzRun Treadmills come 95% assembled. A big plus for those of us that are not DIY-minded (or just want to get running without the bother). DKN EzRun Treadmills: Incline and Cushioning The mechanical incline is also decent. It can be manually adjusted, with 12 levels to choose from (0-12%). It can also be controlled automatically by any of the 15 pre-set programmes that the EzRun comes with. The treadmill is also Kinomap compatible, which can control your incline to suit whichever route you’re taking. The running belt measures up at 140cm in length which means even taller runners or those with a longer stride will be able to run comfortably on this treadmill. More impressive is the width of the belt which measures up at 52cm– making it one of the widest at this price point. This price comes twofold. Firstly, folding treadmills tend to be quite lightweight. They are not often built for hard use, or at least they tend not to excel at it. The EzRun is reassuringly heavy, meaning that weightier athletes or those looking to really push themselves can get a good run from it.
