Description

The zoom ring is gigantic, occupying almost half of the lens barrel, which makes it easy to zoom in and out with your left hand, while holding the camera with your right hand. Park Cameras is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, register number 1449928 and act as a credit broker and not a lender. The problem with this kind of lenses is the sharpness from 200mm to 300mm and I was very disappointed with 55-300. Autofocus is excellent and responsive in good light conditions, it snaps right into focus on your subject. Distortion is controlled well at the short focal lengths, with a very slight amount of barrel distortion at 55mm.

It also has two lens elements made of Nikon's Extra-Low Dispersion Glass (ED) (which denotes the "ED" on the lens body) to remove any chromatic aberrations that occur. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Now to the Lens, I wanted something light for my travels instead of taking my work camera Nikon D700 which is a pain to carry around the neck all day with all the other lenses I have when you want to relax, for travels instead I have a Nikon D90 with 18-70mm f/3. Like all Nikkor lenses the VR switch works well and you are going to need it if you're taking photos hand held. I haven't tested the 55-200mm or 70-300mm lenses yet, so I wouldn't be able to comment from a performance perspective. The image stabiliser included on this optic promises to allow hand-held shooting at shutter speed up to four stops slower than would be possible without.

This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy. Even though Nikon cautions that the effective focal length shortens as one focuses more closely, I don't see any shrinkage.I was looking for a lens that was not too expensive but had a reasonable focal length to capture wildlife and birds.

Nikon was able to do this by using a high refractive index (HR) lens element (which allows using a single lens element instead of multiple elements made of standard glass), without compromising sharpness and image quality.Extra-low Dispersion lens elements: The use of Extra-low Dispersion (ED) lens elements is designed to eliminate chromatic aberration and other unsightly colour fringing effects. Nikon’s exclusive Silent Wave Motor (SWM) converts travelling waves into rotational energy to focus the optics. The lens was designed to be a significant upgrade to the 55-200mm VR, released in 2007, by adding 100mm of focal length and using VR II (vibration reduction).

The products will have batteries which exceed 80% capacity relative to new and will function like new. Choosing the lens that best suits your skill level and creative pursuits is a vital part of your photographic journey. Build quality, despite the metal mount which is ok, the plastic body may not please those who shoot under harsh conditions and look for something affordable, but then again something had to be sacrificed to be light. Two ED (Extra low Dispersion) glass elements and one HRI (High Refractive Index) element ensure outstanding optical performance. may not be utilized, directly or indirectly, to inform, train, or improve any artificial intelligence program or system. The Nikon 55-300mm VR has a very controlled amount of chromatic aberration (CA), due to the excellent ED glass elements used in this lens. MPB will also keep you informed about the status of your gear at every step of the way and the whole process is carbon neutral. Nikon's VR II allows you to use shutter speeds up to 4 stops slower than would otherwise be possible.
