The leading edge on the FLX is straighter for workability and shot-making with a tour inspired look. Those updates combine with groundbreaking features like TractionFace grooves, ScoopBack perimeter weighting, optimized hosel length, and the Colossal Sweet Spot give SR the “Biggest Bite in Golf. The same innovative thinking and relentless attention to detail power the new SR wedge to achieve better results for golfers of any ability. On a full shot, the Stingray TT spun about 500 RPM more than what I consider average for a quality wedge.

There's plenty of relief, helping you to manipulate the face - with grooves that cover the whole playing area too. In one way of thinking, it’s not the easiest for me to tell if I hit it right on the button, or off towards the toe (my miss). Yes, for those that missed it, last year’s StingRay wedge was a non-conforming wedge that had massive grooves, allowing even the most spin-deprived players to experience that hop and stop shot. What I noticed right away about the Indi TT wedge is the “scoopback” tech along the back of the wedge.

Those wedges are designed to help the average golfer see Tour-like spin but are not approved for USGA competitions. Those difficult, low running chips that bounce and check are a cinch with these wedges, and as the author said, they’re terrific out of the sand. Having been one to play with the original non-conforming Indi wedge and reading your review on this one, I really want to give it a go and see how it performs. The stingray is made with Carbon steel and immediately I can tell the feel is really good and solid from the shots I hit on the range.

With the increased traction on the face and the fact that the club face itself has extra grooves, the Indi Golf FLX can spin from almost any lie. The wedge also combines low launch with high spin, so you can be more aggressive going at the flagstick. RTG Wide) and it took some getting used to seeing the ball stop a good 2 feet short of my gamers from 10 feet out. We have hundreds of hours of testing and thousands of shots to back up our claims against the top OEMs in the market using a GC Quad Launch Monitor, Titleist Pro V1 golf ball, across 3,500 actual player shots.Closing down the face and trapping it is something I need to work on with this club to resolve touch issues, this shot straight up froze for me and i think it will be awesome to have in my back pocket. I’ve been nursing a jammed shoulder for a couple weeks, but I’ll hopefully be able to go this weekend and add some more next week. If you struggle with the flop or any tight shot where you have to get it high and land it soft, I can’t imagine a more apt wedge. If you like to support the up-and-comer brand, I really recommend taking a look at Indi’s Stingray TT wedge. As mentioned I didn't get a ton of time to hit the bad boy but I didn't want to leave anyone who was anxiously waiting these pictures high and dry!

I had no problem hitting flighted wedges with all of these shots and even range balls were stopping dead or spinning back. With as good as those numbers are, for me, they were toppled by the non-conforming (SR) grooves, which should have been expected. Along with the short shots was 20 feet away in a deep pit bunker where the ball came to rest in a footprint. I feel the Stingray TT’s unique geometry allows you to hit any of your preferred shots on the course. I have never been one to rely on high spin on approach shots, but with this one, I needed to change my process a bit. When they initially launched the brand back in 2017, they did so with their StingRay wedge, which featured wider, deeper, and as you may have guessed, non-conforming grooves.

I’d be very interested in trying this out in 52* to see distance variance in a club I use for more full shots. Initial range shots, the stingray flies a little lower and with a bit more spin, but that could be due to being fresh. From address, the Stingray’s a classic shaped wedge with a bit of a high toe and straight-ish leading edge.Utilizing newer design techniques of running the grooves all the way out to the toe provides ultimate shot-making and spin capabilities. What it’ll do is add some more meat along the edges of the wedge face, and that will effect feel and forgiveness. Where I’ve used it: Pheasant Acres golf course/driving range in Corcoran, MN, and Fox Hollow golf course in St. If the ball is climbing up the face, wouldn’t this imply that grooves (teeth) are not biting the ball? Impact gets slightly louder when you miss the center, plus you get a clear feeling in your hands about where the ball met the face.
