Stephanie Archer is a master of creating a balance of pining, passion and This is a forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine romance that is absolutely delectable. Try as she might to keep her distance from him, Hazel can’t help but feel drawn to Rory’s warm nature, amazing smile, six-foot-two-million frame, never-ending stream of generous (and usually inappropriate) gifts, and his determination to make her his girlfriend, for real. Jamie is a goalie for the Vancouver Storm, he has recently been signed by them to be closer to his mom, who has panic attacks. Said tension leads to lots of unspoken feelings, cute dogs, bad ex-boyfriends, and a scene involving a sex toy that will have you needing a cold shower. The big publishers usually err on the less spicy side but I'm really, really happy this book had some spice! I thought I was popping in for a quick cheeky read, but this is a full-bodied, pining, everlasting romance. I’ve really enjoyed Stephanie Archer’s books in the past, and overall I liked this one, though it wasn’t always easy.

But it was too drawn out for me and I found it easier and easier to put down to the point at 80% I hadn’t touched it in three days! this series will be so good and I’m prepared to fold like a piece of paper for stephanie archer men. The grumpy x sunshine from the beginning finally turned into sunshine on more sunshine and I am so here for it. Jamie is a professional hockey player who recently relocated back home from New York in a bid to be closer to his mom to support her.

Jamie is always doing things for people and being strong for those he loves, he never asks for help. Over time they learn much more about each other until they each finally reveal that they remembered each other and had crushes. She snatches up the first opportunity available to work for the Hockey team that could lead to a full-time position. Pippa has spent her years since finishing school touring with her high school sweetheart Zach and his band, but after she is dumped at the airport and given a plane ticket home, she finds herself broke and lonely, forced to crash with her sister. The characters worked together instead of against each other to get what they wanted and that is so refreshing to read!Behind the Net is a hockey romance novel set in Vancouver, Canada and features main characters Pippa and Jamie.

Pippa is an aspiring musician who travelled with her musician boyfriend who gaslit her and broke her self-confidence in her talent. I loved hockey romances and I loved the chance to read a hockey romance by one of my favourite authors! i did enjoy this because all i needed was a hockey romance with a little spice and spice i definitely got, but if you’re looking for something more and deeper than that this book won’t satisfy you, but i’d still recommend if you’re in the mood for a cute, spicy, easy read. The dual narration of the chapters is PERFECT for this book, and the voice actors (artists- sorry I’ve never received an audiobook before) were spot on. I honestly think that is enough reason to convince you to read it, if you are into sports romance/want to get into this PLS PLS READ IT!I am so happy that Pippa got the happy ending she deserved and that was her true revenge against him. Hello, there are currently 2 listings for my book, 1 under my name and 1 under another author with the same pen name. I adored Jamie, he was such an amazing support to Pippa to make sure she begins to believe in herself again. Between wearing his jersey at games, fun, rowdy parties with the team, and being brave on stage again, I’m falling for him. It was the cutest and sexiest love story … Jamie was the grumpy sweetheart of my dreams and Pippa gainning her comfidence back thanks to his care and love was all i asked for.

The miscommunication, or lack of communication, is a little bit frustrating as it's dragged out for a couple hundred pages, BUT that means there's a lot of a slow-burn romance and angst. The storyline was quite weak and the concept of an aspiring singer who just needs to be told they’re good enough over and over is quite tired and made me cringe out loud. Stephanie Archer brings the heat in her Queen’s Cove series and this first book in a hockey romance series is no exception. Pippa’s growth, rising from the shadow she’s walked in for years and going for everything she ever wanted made my heart SO happy. looking for a quick and easy (and dirty, jesus) entry into the hockey romance craze, Behind the Net isn’t a bad way to spend an afternoon.
