They are at least reading copies, complete and in reasonable condition, but usually secondhand; frequently they are superior examples. With special thanks to Martin Kelly (for sorting the crazy logistics), Lora Findlay (for the saucy santa lady and sleeve design) and Kieron Tyler (for the Doors song none of us had heard before). In recent summers, my father has come to Manhattan so we can dine at the bar of the Union Square Café, go to a show, and wrap it up with a nightcap.

Low" health rating enemies have approximately twice the health of "Weakling" enemies, though they are also weak.

This intriguing and amusing book looks at the history of leg-wear and its accessories through the ages with the aid of beautiful pictures, original advertising and stunning images from the media. At any rate, I suppose the moral of the story is that you should keep a close eye on what your adolescent children memorize – it’s your window on the dreams which will probably influence their actions for decades to come. Thankfully she's balanced by Christine, an awesome razor-wielding femme fatale, leaving a trail of well-deserved victims behind her. There was a bit of a lull toward the final third of the novel, but the last 100 pages kicked it back into gear. That in the midst of the 1970s, my father still enjoyed losing himself for the afternoon at Rick’s Café Americain, was an unspoken confirmation that an enviable world lay somewhere else. Like a Depression era American watching a Fred Astaire film, I was prepared to take the whole folly at face value. I liked the stars of the narrative, like Annie and Damon, but I don't understand the need for other POVs from insignificant players in the fictional work. So over the years, even though my father’s practical suburban self has inevitably encouraged me to pursue conventional aspirations, he had already tipped his hand: secretly, I knew that a part of him was hoping I just pursued my dreams. The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged. They exude an unusual niceness; this is a band you could go for a pint with, or hang around with at a gig.
