Accuracy: This is a nonfiction memoir that is as much a narrative as it is a historical slice of American life.

Using direct literal language and cool colour illustrations, this book tells boys all they need to know about growing hair in new places, shaving, wet dreams and unexpected erections. A reassuring guide for boys approaching puberty, explaining the changes that will happen to their bodies as they grow up. This book is beautifully written, has satisfyingly complex characters, and a uniquely intricate world that will not let you go!It's a coming-of-age memoir, as Baker grows up from child in the Great Depression to a young adult during the war and finally finds love. A friendly, reassuring positive guide for boys as they approach puberty, explaining the changes that will happen to their bodies as they grow up and how these changes might make them feel. What I loved most about this book was the honest, humorous tone with which Baker is able to convey his childhood and adolescent memories and dialogues. I soo loved reading this memoir with its rich, varied cast of characters from Baker's family, friends, and relatives. Written as a memoir, students would be reading about a man his/her own age growing up but just in just a different time.

This growing up book covers contemporary issues such as internet safety and tackles key topics such as sexuality and body image.

According to Russel’s mother, men are very uncivilized and are brutes, therefore need women’s guidance for their future success in terms of the prosperity of their career. The memoir starts from a scene of his eighty years old mother (lying down in the hospital bed); despite being an energetic women in the early days and being a strong advocate of feminism, she has grown old and become senile. Rachel Greener (Author) Rachel Greener is a children's books editor from London who has edited fiction, non-fiction and picture books about everything from the ancient Egyptians and ocean plastics to teenage detectives and zombie goldfish. It was so good that I felt like I was a guest at Russell Baker's table as he regaled me with the story of his life.

Long Way Down” takes place in a lift as Will hardens his resolve to take revenge on his brother’s killer. Simple graphics and jargon-free text are key to making this series a user-friendly resource for frustrated parents who want to help with children get the most out of life. This visual guide to puberty and adolescence is a must-read for all parents and tweens embarking on those scary teenage years. Teenagers could learn a lot about what it was like during this time period and compare Russell’s harsh upbringing (loss of his father, his relationship with his mother and the struggles to support a family, etc. Other cancelled products: If you want to cancel products that are not damaged or incorrectly supplied, then you must inform us of this within seven working days following the date of receipt in accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations or otherwise as soon as possible.
