The chest does still light up and there are enough pieces and layers in the chest to make it look sufficiently complicated and cool. The Hasbro Marvel Legends Series Haslab Galactus stands tall at 32-inches, being the largest Marvel Legends figure to date.

Galactus is a larger-than-life figure in and out of the Marvel Universe, and here you will have a chance to help do him justice. The head sculpt is dominated by Galactus’ rather elaborate helmet and I am extremely pleased with the way it came out. I was sure he didn’t have lateral rockers in the ankles, but eventually I discovered them while playing around with him.

The ratchets on the articulation are extremely tight and you really have to manhandle the figure to get them moving. Still, not really the look I want to go for most of the time, so this one will not be utilized a lot.

It comprises over 300 individual pieces, LED lights in the head and chest, and over 70 points of articulation, offering various posing possibilities.

They did some cool engineering with the skirt, splitting it into four pieces that can move a bit to allow for more leg movement. In fact, the campaign has now unlocked two stretch goals as it heads into its waning days — a new Frankie Reyes Marvel Legends figure and a new Silver Surfer figure with an alternate head. Friday morning, Hasbro revealed the third stretch goal should the campaign tally 20,000 backers — the ravenous Morg.

Morg doesn’t have anything like that, but I’ll probably just put him at Galactus’ feet along with Cosmic Ghost Rider, Terrax, and Herald Thor. This is where you will find any My Little Pony, Monster High, Barbie or Polly Pocket items that we may have in from time to time. I don’t pretend to know all the economics behind this operation, but I do know when it comes to a giant Galactus figure, my financial judgement cannot be trusted.I can’t say I’m happy that Sentinel backers had to take the bullet on this issue, but I’m still glad to see the lesson was learned by Hasbro and improvements were made.
