Description

The otters were just adorable, the thieving seagull was very amusing, and Kraken the blue octopus was just wonderful!

An excellent, pacey adventure story full of characters, a great plot and a myth passed down through generations of water creatures and dragons. Tone and texture can vary slightly from thread to thread, and expect to see the occasional slub in our linens and pile movement in our velvets. Join Alex Neptune in the second instalment in an epic fantasy adventure series perfect for fans of Percy Jackson and Dragon Realm. Alex Neptume is a boy who lives in a seaside town, rather inconveniently seeing as the sea has been trying to kill him since he was a small child. The underlying eco-friendly themes run throughout the story and make you think about the way in which the marine environment is ever-changing. This means while it is possible the bay's shape was indeed like that because the Water Dragon took a bite out of it (leaving it with a 7 or potential 8), the climax size is roughly the size of the boat/ship of the villain.

It's like writing a story but then deciding not to include the villain, or writing about WW2 but leaving out Hitler entirely and just have the Allies bringing peace. Also the dialogue between the two during the climax was laughably bad, Like c'mon David I know you can do better than that. David Owen had a great skill for creating rounded realistic young characters in his YA fiction, a talent that has continued in this, his first book for children. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.Alex’s big sister Bridget was giving Luisa from Encanto vibes and I think might have been my fave character – super determined. The sea creatures near Haven Bay are acting very strangely, attacking boats, and Alex senses some dark power is controlling them. We build our frames using solid timber and proper joinery – they’re pieces of furniture in their own right.

Candy Gourlay introduces Wild Song, her companion novel to Bone Talk, in which Luki and Samkad leave their home in the Philippines for America. A lovely story with an important message about protecting our oceans and how humans can impact our environment. Because the shape is so uncomplicated, the fine joinery and the beauty of the solid oak becomes even more apparent. By weaving into the plot environmental issues, breaking gender stereotypes and digressing from traditional character tropes, Owen has created the perfect book for young minds in the 21st century.Recruiting his tech-genius best friend Zoe, legend-lover Anil, a sharp-shooting octopus, three acrobatic otters and a thieving seagull, Alex plots a heist to break the dragon out. Join Alex Neptune, the boy with the power of the ocean in his hands, on his second adventure – perfect for fans of Percy Jackson and Dragon Realm!

David resents the fact that he was not raised by wolves and was therefore robbed of a good story to tell at parties. So he’s not too happy when a bunch of sea creatures drag him to the abandoned aquarium on the hill, where an imprisoned water dragon needs his help.Join Alex Neptune, the boy with the power of the ocean in his hands, on his second adventure - perfect for fans of Percy Jackson and Dragon Realm!
