She has squabbles with her friends, cares about her schoolwork, grumbles about her parents and longs for more than she has. Never did I think upon reading this book that I would be so connected, invested and intensely engrossed as I was when I picked it up. Baby Love is not suitable for Wilson’s more typical younger audience – it is an original piece whose characters will stick with you for a long time. I've been a Jacqueline Wilson fan since my teens and once again, she doesn't hold back in exploring difficult topics and bringing you on an emotional journey. As always Jaqueline has this innate ability to weave an uncomfortable topic into a story that can be understood and felt by all.

A very excellent written novel that focus on the 1960s as a time zone but talks about topics still relevant to today.The narrative totally draws you in and the storyline keeps you guessing where life will take Laura and Kathleen. As well as winning many awards for her books, including the Children's Book of the Year, Jacqueline is a former Children's Laureate, and in 2008 she was appointed a Dame.

Jacqueline is also a great reader, and has amassed over 20,000 books, along with her famous collection of silver rings. Aspirations to keep up with a wealthy friend are agonizing, and result in a huge mistake that she doesn't even realise she's making.Tematiche cosi´ impegnative sono difficili da trattare, soprattutto rivolte a persone cosi´ giovani, ma in questo libro vince la sincerita´ della protagonista, che si racconta con semplicita´ contrapposta alla difficilissima situazione che va a vivere. I’m not sure if the author is now writing for a different type of teenager than 20 years ago or if I am reading her book as a person who has experienced things I never expected 20 years ago but this did not feel like a ‘teen read’.
