This intense, powerful oriental fragrance combines an intoxicating blend of florals and exotic spices with an earthy, warm, base. It's definitely very synthetic and vanilla driven, like a lighter and less scratchy Stronger With You.Calvin Klein’s best-selling perfume, which is also available in a men’s version, has a warming, Far-Eastern scent derived from an infusion of green accords, rich spices and sensual powdery ingredients. It’s a pleasant woody citrusy vibe that projects pretty well in the first hour or two then fades into something uncomplicated and nice. It's fair to say, few fragrances before or since have matched Obsession, both in terms of worldwide fame, inspiring emotion and creating eternally loyal fans. By the time I had gone back to my car, Obsessed had caught in the back of my throat and I quickly got nauseas. For me, it takes me back to high school, remembering those days chilling at the lake after school with my best friend.

It is so remarkably similar to Rhythm but with an herbal lavender instead of a laundry detergent lavender. The most noticeable opening to dry-down changes in this fragrance is the very fruity and citrusy opening, these notes are at the top closely followed by the spices; as the fragrance dries down, these fruity notes significantly dissipate, and in their place, the fragrance brings the sweet resinous touches of the labdanum and cinnamon, projected by the leather, vanilla, and ambroxan. Once Calvin Klein Obsessed has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a very sweet, resinous, and leathery fragrance with woody, spicy, soft floral, and fruity accords. I, personally, would never have thought of some of the listed fragrances but I guess with a very determined nose. EDIT: Over time, this has come to strike me as imbalanced and really cheap smelling -- cloyingly sweet and just a mess. Smelled it at the airport and was super positively surprised to realize that this is a hardcore intense version of his classic ' CK Be'. Im just a little bit disappointed because the lavender note is not the most prominent , I get an herbal powdery dry wonderfully natural lavender a few moments behind top notes that later almost dissapear.

The projection and longevity are both above average (I'm still catching fairly strong whiffs nearly 8 hours later), and this is a welcome change from recent Calvin Klein releases. It was perfect: not nauseatingly sweet, always fresh and clean, and strong enough to stay around for a few hours without annoying others around me. Mixing memory and desire, masculine and feminine, the past and the present, these compelling fragrances echo the original OBSESSION, yet blur and reformulate scents for both men and women today. Calvin Klein Obsessed For Men EDT opens with a moderate projection of very sweet, spices, and fruity accords.

To me it's very similar to CK women and the CK be is slightly there, the herbal notes are very subtle, it's smooth and not pungent. Although the bottle says "for Men" this is not a very macho fragrance and can be worn by ladies too! It seems that after some risky things (Encounter, Reveal) Calvin Klein finally got their bestseller. They work nicely with my body chemistry, while “female” sweet fragrances usually turn intolerably, cloyingly sweet.
