About this deal

Dieses Buch beschreibt die Politik und Geschichte Israels sowohl aus der Sicht der Zionisten als auch der vertriebenen Palästinenser und der nichtjüdischen Israelis. The author clearly explains how the State led by a very militaristic, ultra nationalistic culture, particularly after the 1967 War, begins to displays it's true colors by their very racist ideas of who is a proper Jew, (White Europeans) not Middle East/Arab Jews, African's or Asians. Yitzhak Shamir was a dedicated proponent of Greater Israel and as Israeli Prime Minister gave the settler movement funding and Israeli governmental legitimisation. Goliath is a particular kind of expose-minded, documentary-broadside journalism whose place we generally recognize and respect.

This is the only known nuclear power that has never allowed any inspection of their nuclear facilities. One simply needs to enjoy dogged, committed journalism, unafraid to express a point of view based on evidence that demands such expression. On a positive note there are a growing number of brave Jewish and Palestinian activists who are challenging the status quo and demanding, through non-violent means, a state where all are treated equally. The reason isn’t because they are immigrants, they are not citizens, the reason is because they are not Jews. Der US-amerikanische Historiker, Journalist und Bestsellerautor Max Blumenthal hat sich insbesondere mit der Politik der Republikanischen Partei und Israels auseinandergesetzt.

The Israeli response to all criticism is to allege the inherent anti-Semitism of the rest of the world. My own country, Australia, has recently elected a bunch of 'tea party' conservatives to govern our nation who are now taking a wrecking ball to our formerly egalitarian society.added, in interviews that he gave in the past, that the two blue stripes on the Israeli flag represent the Nile and the Euphrates. The Bank of Israel denies this conspiracy theory since the coin is a replica of a historical coin dating from 37 to 40 BCE and the alleged "map" is actually the irregular shape of the ancient coin. Greater Israel’ refers to the notion of expanding Israel’s territory and sovereignty to encompass what many Israelis describe as their historic Biblical land.

This is an unflinching, unprecedented work of journalism which depicts a startling portrait of Israeli society under the siege of increasingly conservative authoritarian politics.

The book is the product, the author says, of four years’ work, including more than a year living in Israel and the Palestinian territories to study the facts on the ground. The quotes from military commanders and political leaders justifying massacres and mass displacement of the indigenous Palestinian population are chilling.

As for the book’s supposedly unusual interviewees, they appear regularly, everywhere from Charlie Rose to The New York Times, Haaretz and the Forward. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Sunday reiterated his position that the vision of Israel holding onto the West Bank and Gaza Strip as part of its sovereign territory was finished. And finally the growing fears of the ethnic cleansing of the besieged Gaza Strip or large parts of it. Blumenthal's new book offers an unflinching look at the racist reality of Israel that America's establishment media simply does not have the guts to confront.

Blumenthal doesn’t know the history and ignores the inconvenient bits of the present, which is one reason his book has flopped. As Blumenthal reveals, Israel has become a country where right-wing leaders like Avigdor Lieberman and Bibi Netanyahu are sacrificing democracy on the altar of their power politics where the loyal opposition largely and passively stands aside and watches the organized assault on civil liberties where state-funded Orthodox rabbis publish books that provide instructions on how and when to kill Gentiles where half of Jewish youth declare their refusal to sit in a classroom with an Arab and where mob violence targets Palestinians and African asylum seekers scapegoated by leading government officials as "demographic threats. This was an attempt to upend or nullify the Kadan ruling by the Supreme Court, which had allowed one Arab family to take up residence in one of the mitzbeh communities, which are small all-Jewish communities built in the north of Israel surrounding Palestinian towns and cities to limit their natural growth. European Zionist began a campaign to mystify the history of the Jewish people who largely were unmoved by Zionism at the turn of the century and only saw themselves as a persecuted minority in their respective native countries and had no desire to live and work in some desert in the Middle East. It is useful for us to move beyond Blumenthal’s tone (which I find perfectly appropriate) and examine how well of a case he presents about Israel’s fundamental problems.
