Karp does a masterful job steering this novel on his own, keeping series fans excited for what is to come. And I'm really glad I did—it won me over pretty easily, I got invested and caught up in the story, and generally had fun reading the book.

The plot twists and story arcs presented keep the reader engaged and ready to learn more, stopped only by the limitations of Karp’s ability to publish future pieces. I think this shooting, the investigation, and the resolution was actually the strongest storyline in the novel and Karp developed it well. This police unit of hardworking and determined detectives is dedicated towards investigating the crimes involving high-profile people such as political operatives, celebrities, rich citizens, etc.

Detectives—and their friends, lovers, contacts—who are impossibly attractive and extraordinarily bright on the trail of implausibly effective and skilled killers. While these two are well-versed in homicide and how to handle people with kid gloves, nothing will prepare them for what they discover on this case. He used his reference to perfectly set the tone for the book; it provided just the right amount of foreboding. You will not be able to put this down--it's sharp and smart and cinematic and clever and there's a twist on every page. The heightened reality of this series works well in the cases these detectives are involved with—Entertainment personalities and the super-rich.

A riveting, suspenseful thriller…A great entry in the vigilante killer genre…Marshall Karp is a master at writing New York City noir. It’s may be a distraction but Red have honed their skills to not allow anything to derail them while on a case.

At the start of the book’s story, it is depicted that New York City is filled with glamor as Hollywood on Hudson has begun. The relationship between Kylie and Zach shows they have a history and often double-date with one another. It also includes some very coincidental, but well-delivered, character development for Zach that was a surprisingly beneficial element that strengthened the storylines. After six bestsellers, Marshall has carried the series forward on his own, beginning with NYPD Red 7: The Murder Sorority. We had our yellow barrel, and we were going to follow it…before it [the movie] ends the shark sinks Quint’s boat and eats him alive, but still, a lead is a lead.

Karp's version of this thing that we've seen and read about in other books/shows/movies/comics is as successfully conceived and executed as I've seen it. NYPD Red, an entity invented by Patterson for his series, is an elite and well trained unit that has the job of protecting the rich, the famous and the well connected.
