Sodium hydroxide in itself is a potent skin irritant, but once it's reacted (as it is usually in skin care products, like exfoliants) it is totally harmless. I wear glasses and any face serum I have to wait and let it sit for a couple of minutes on my face till dry but with Neutrogena face serum less than two minutes it was dry. It applies fine both ways; I prefer to have at least the hydrating serum underneath first but if I'm feeling lazy I just wake up and put this sunscreen on and it works great! However, hubby just got a small slice taken off his chest and it turned out to be a superficial basal cell carcinoma, in spite of the constant lathering of sunscreen when he goes for his daily run/jog.

FYI, I’ve noticed that this tinted lotion can rub off on lighter clothing, so just pointing that out. You know I cannot deal with the backs of my knees feeling sticky, and this formula absorbs in less than a minute.
