This is an award show! Everyone deserves their chance to come up and be given their award, make their little speech, and get some applause. That time was taken away from that for categories like Best RPG and Best Fighting Game is bizarre.

Mum jokes are a minefield, so trust Paddy Power to put on their walking boots with glee. The Irish bookmaker's latest commercial has a familiar set-up—tea with the in-laws—so you know something cringeworthy is about to happen. When it does, the cast steps up to the plate with consummate awkwardness.

One of the best features of Cringeworthy is its ability to break the ice and get everyone laughing together. The game creates a playful and light-hearted atmosphere, encouraging everyone to let loose and embrace the awkwardness. It's perfect for getting to know new friends or adding some spice to gatherings with old pals. In fact, some of the awards were handed out during the pre-show and not even mentioned during the actual show. I turned on the stream halfway into Keighley announcing that Street Fighter Vwon best Fighting Game but he didn't even list the other nominees.

Now, I don't expect everyone to agree with that strike, but I do think that using the Game Awards as a bully pulpit is a bad idea. I think it would be a bad idea even if North endorsed the strike, but it was even more cringeworthy because he implied very strongly how much he disagrees with his colleagues in the voice acting industry. Again, I don't think he has to agree with them, but he's also not in the same shoes as many other voice actors given his fame and success. No David Cage sexcapade is complete without mentioning Beyond: Two Souls. While not nearly as graphic as the other two games (no one gets fully naked here), the premise behind the scene is is just as cringeworthy, as you're essentially a disembodied voyeur during the whole thing.Oh, and don't cut straight to the friggin Hydrobot after that speech. Maybe this would be a good time to go to a musical act or something. Anything other than gross consumerism following such a powerful acceptance speech. I went from teary-eyed to downright pissed off at this point. Cringeworthy has provided our group with endless laughter and unforgettable memories. It's a game that brings out the creative and comedic side of each player, and no two rounds are ever the same. Whether you're looking for a game to spice up your adult gatherings or simply want to have a good laugh with friends, Cringeworthy is the perfect addition to your party game collection. Oh, and it's fine to mention that the games being honored are on sale, but maybe don't force it down our throats? The Hyrdobot is emblematic of this industry's problems. It's too brazenly commercialized. Stunts like this are grossly condescending to the audience and do a disservice to the developers being honored.

Of course, going to a musical act is only a good suggestion if the musical act in question is good. The DOOMstuff was great. The other acts? Not so much. Maybe Run the Jewels have good albums, but their live performance was bad, muffled, and didn't fit the rest of the show. The next rap act was better but still felt off.

Not only did Best RPG not get a proper announcement with nominees listed, the winning game was an expansion of last year's GOTY winner, The Witcher 3.
