Description

Anyway, Circus Lane is a beautiful old cobbled street with old lampposts, creeping greenery and lovely houses, making for a perfect village scene, just ten minutes from the centre of Edinburgh. We also encourage you to find your own favourite alley or street in Edinburgh – there are lots to choose from!

All of these locations have highland coos on their property, although as the Torridon Hotel is a hotel and private property we’d suggest that you should look to spend the night here if you want to meet the coos, as we did. They have a fairly large herds of cows, which affords plenty of opportunities to get some lovely shots. Many visitors to the Highlands would have passed through Glencoe at some point, as the main road – the A82 – cuts through the landscape, making this area Scotland’s most famous and scenic glen. I hope you enjoyed this article and got something useful out of it. If so, please share it with your friends and on social media and if there are any questions or comments, leave them below. I’ll do my best to reply. As you can see, this waterfall is well worth the thirty minute round trip hike. There are actually two falls here, with my favourite being the top falls, which is the one pictured. You’re going to want to bring a tripod (I use and recommend the Vanguard VEO range for travel!) and a set of neutral density filters to achieve the fluffy water look in this shot! As a resident coastal shooter in the south-west corner of Wales, I’m always drawn to anything with water and the Cairngorms has its fair share of interesting lochs. When it comes to traveling, Scotland isn’t much different from other European countries. Still, there are a couple of peculiarities that should be taken into account when planning a photography trip there.

Therefore I encourage you to pay extra for the full insurance when renting the car. Sorting out the repairs is the last thing you want to do on your vacation. Another big problem in summer is the midges. That’s when they’re at their worst. The midges are usually present between April and September, give or take. So in summer, you are pretty much guaranteed to encounter them. One of Scotland’s two national parks, the Cairngorms covers an area of nearly two thousand square miles across a mixture of farmland, woodland, and its iconic mountain range. It’sa firm favourite of mine and an area I always try to visit at least once a year due to its sheer beauty and variety of subjects on offer. And that’s only the photography side of it. But Scotland is much more than that. It is also rich history, amiable people, unique culture, fantastic architecture, and traditional food. And if all that isn’t enough of a reason to visit it then I don’t know what is. Best Photography Locations in ScotlandHead to the east end of the loch for the “beach” which is often covered with sand patterns and interesting exposed tree roots. Also, here (and surrounding the loch to south and west) is a lovely area of Caledonian forest, with many trails that crisscross and allow access to almost everywhere. If you’d prefer to just shoot the road itself, I got the above shot a little further along the A896 in the direction of Torridon, specifically around here, looking to the west. I loved how the road winds off into the distance, the dramatic clouds and the mountain Ben Eighe in the distance. Definitely, it’s one of the best photography workshops and for sure a worthy Europe photo tour. During a trip to Scotland, you can enjoy great landscapes as on a trip to Iceland. Aperture – If an otter is very close to you, keep in mind that their eyes and nose are a long way apart so a large depth of field is needed to ensure everything is in focus. Also, if you are photographing a family, you will need a larger depth of field of around f/8 or more.
