Description

A common issue with affordable watches is that the bracelet is the part that is compromised with the most, and the same goes for this bracelet. It looks good and goes well with the sporty design of the watch, but it does have some rattle, the closing on the clasp is not 100% robust, and the links are folded which compromises its solid feeling and sense of durability. Specifications Seiko Production Date Calculator - Jayhawk’s automated production date calculator for selected Seiko calibers! The watch is presented on a stainless steel three-link bracelet in an Oyster style. The bracelet is 20mm but tapers down to 18mm. The watch offers a water resistance of 100m/330 feet which is quite good for a watch in this price range that, additionally, isn’t even a dive watch. A military watch is not necessarily made for being underwater for longer periods of time, so 100M should do just fine for everyday wear. But with that said, this watch does not have a screw-down. It is a push-pull crown that is unsigned.

I had a hard time finding the serial number until I finally realized it wasn’t printed on the glass. 🙂 As you may imagine, the SNZG also looks great on a nylon NATO strap. The Military styling of the watch pairs perfectly with the rugged good looks of a nylon NATO, we have pictured it here with a green NATO, but it does look fantastic on other colors as well. You can see that the differences between the two watches are like night and day. Observe the highly chromed applied index markers and hands of the Grand Seiko on the left. Not to mention the level of refinement, fit and finishing of the SBGR023. No way an entry level, mass produced 7s26 movement can match the quality of a hand assembled 9s55 movement.Leather strap watches tend to fit without a problem for most wearers. However, watches fitted with metal bracelets often need adjusting to get the perfect fit. Jayhawk's Photo Database - Probably the Internet’s largest resource for vintage Seiko & Citizen watch photos. Worth a look! A common issue with affordable dive watches is that the bracelet is often the part that is compromised with the most. Considering the price, this watch is no exception. But with that said, since it is exactly what we expect, it’s not a huge deal. The bracelet has some downsides which include rattle and a somewhat low-quality feeling. By embracing this mantra, Seiko has been responsible for a string of industry-leading advances in the technology of time, such as the world’s first quartz watch, as well as the world’s first TV watch, and the Seiko Kinetic, which is the first watch ever to generate its own electricity from the movement of the wearer. Seiko are unique in that they manufacture every aspect of every watch in-house, because of their ruthless pursuit of perfection even including growing their own quartz crystals and sapphires. The Seiko 5 SNKE01k1 is, as mentioned, a sporty watch that (obviously) meets all of the requirements to be a Seiko 5 watch. What does this mean?

Here some photos of the SNKE01K’s siblings. They are also available in the “J" variants (Made in Japan for the Arab countries market) with a slight price premium over the regular “K" versions. This watch is also appreciated by watch enthusiasts because it keeps a sporty and timeless design, it is equipped with an automatic movement that is built to last, and of course, is very affordable. Whether you are looking for a sporty and affordable timepiece that can take a beating or are looking to buy your first automatic watch to dip your toes into the world of horology, the SNKE01k1 is a great choice. Seiko 5 SNKE01k1 case The Seiko 5 SNZG13j1 is powered by the in-house automatic Seiko caliber 7S26C. This is a movement that beats at 21600 BPH, has 21 jewels, and offers a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. This is a watch for people who are looking to dip their toes into the world of mechanical watches, but also for those who just want something reliable that won’t let them down. I’m not going to do an in-depth comparison between these two watches as it’s so obvious that they are different in so many aspects – let’s start from the retail price difference itself, which is a whopping USD3,200! 🙂 It will be definitely an unfair comparison so I’ll just focus on the similarities between the two.
