The only real con I can identify is the fact it can only be used rearward facing until approximately 2 years. For safety conscious parents who have been following the iSize regulations closely, they may prefer a seat that can remain rearward facing until they are four. For us personally, we would most likely change to forward facing within this time scale anyway, so it wasn’t a major concern for me.To loosen straps to remove your child you simply press down on a button in the front of the seat and pull. Mike installed the seat for me, however, I think it was so straight forward that I may have been able to do this on my own without assistance (this is a rarity!). There are also detailed videos available on YouTube which may be easier to follow for those that prefer visual instructions. Umožňuje dětem bezpečně sedět proti směru jízdy od 61 cm do 87 cm výšky (od 4 měsíců do cca 2 let). Sezení proti směru jízdy zajišťuje vyšší ochranu hlavy a krku dítěte. Once the seat is fitted in your car, you specify whether you are using the seat in forward facing or rearward facing mode using the scale on the bottom of the seat. The handle to spin it around isn't the easiest to use as you have to twist your hand to an odd angle. We did find ourselves fumbling a bit in the dark to locate it. The central handle in something like the Nuna REBL is easier to use. But that's only a minor criticism.

We hope to have answered some of your questions around this brand-new car seat and we would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Maxi Cosi on continuing to push the boundaries in car seat safety! Just like other car seats in the Axissfix family, the Axissfix Air is suitable from 4 months old and is to be installed rearward facing in your car using the Isofix and top tether connection. The Axissfix Air allows rearward facing travel up to 87cm which is approximately 2 years old and after this age, the seat will rotate to a forward-facing position to be used to 4 years old. You can also rest assured that the Axissfix Air complies with the latest iSize legislation and in the rearward facing position, your little one is as safe as possible. So, what is different about this seat?

This is an extended rear-facing car seat that can be used from birth (with the Comfy Baby-Hugg Inlay, sold separately) until your child is four years old (or 105cm).

The price could be a little lower as I think many families won't be able to afford this car seat but for me, saftey comes first and as mentioned above, the seat if used over four years means the seat isn't too costly (as long as you're not involved in an accident in the meantime!).
