Session tokens are linked to a client ID (see clientId) The IPS panel can’t stop contrast suffering quite badly during viewing from an angle, though, giving us one apt final reminder that for all the things the 55QA5D63DB gets right, its problems with contrast are so fundamental during all but the most glaringly bright content that they’re really pretty hard to live with. In fact, we much prefer the pictures of Toshiba’s substantially cheaper 50UK4D63B, proving – not for the first time – that just throwing Quantum Dots at a screen isn’t the guarantee of better picture quality you might expect. At least at the budget end of the TV world. The Toshiba UF3D 55-Inch Smart Fire TV uses a 4K Ultra HD display that offers a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. It’s powered by a quad-core CPU and a multi-core GPU, providing fast and smooth performance. The TV also features HDR support that enhances the color and contrast of the picture. Additionally, it has Alexa voice control built-in, allowing you to control the TV with your voice. Features The 55QA5D63DB’s Dolby connection extends to Dolby Atmos audio decoding too, while its onscreen menus include a surprisingly broad range of picture set-up options – including various tweaks for Toshiba’s proprietary ‘Tru’ Picture Engine video processor. For the most part, though, the impact of many of the provided adjustments is pretty limited. Some of the features are so inscrutably named and poorly explained, too, that it’s actually pretty much impossible to figure out what they’re supposed to do.

This is a modern set with competitive features for the budget side of the TV market in 2023, more so than the V35 Series at any rate, so if you’re looking for a set you can use to stream all the 4K/HDR content you can imagine without spending an arm and a leg, the C350 Series from Toshiba can get you there. Used to determine a user's inclusion in an experiment and the expiry of experiments a user has been included in. The main source of both its strengths and flaws is its brightness. Right out of the gate, you can tell that it’s much brighter than its cheaper 50UK4D63B sibling. This enables it to deliver much more of the brightness, both in small ‘peaks’ and full-screen situations, that high dynamic range content thrives on. All of Toshiba UK’s 2023 TVs are 60Hz TVs, while each line also supports HDR10, and the QF5D Series and UF3D Series support Dolby Vision, too, as well as the TRU Picture Engine that offers up motion smoothing, upscaling, and more.

The Toshiba UF3D 55-Inch Smart Fire TV comes with HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology, which provides a wider range of colors and brightness levels. This technology enhances the contrast and color accuracy of the TV, making it an excellent option for those who want a TV that delivers a premium viewing experience. HDR technology also makes it an ideal choice for those who wish to use their TV for gaming, as it provides a smooth and immersive gaming experience. OLED Technology

The Toshiba 43UF3D doesn’t have too much to work with, given its price – this is a pretty basic LED panel, with a 50Hz frame rate, that does what it can with the parts given to it. The Toshiba UF3D 55-Inch Smart Fire TV has several sound settings that allow users to adjust the TV’s sound quality to their liking. The TV’s sound settings include volume, bass, and treble options. The TV also comes with a Sound Mode setting, which allows users to select from different preset sound modes, such as Music, Movie, and News, to name a few. In addition, the TV’s Sound Mode setting includes an advanced sound calibration mode that allows users to fine-tune the TV’s sound settings for the best possible audio experience. Network Settings Across these TVs, you’ll get fairly robust HDR support, Dolby Atmos support, and the Fire TV OS for all the 4K streaming you could want. Onkyo speakers are a nice addition, but of course, for a premium sound, you’ll want to invest in an external sound solution, such as a budget-focused soundbar. All told, with modern features and specs, these TVs can get the job done. You can improve things marginally – and we do mean marginally – by tinkering with the Adaptive Luma and Local Contrast controls. But even with the 55QA5D63DB’s contrast optimised as much as possible, very dark scenes in beloved films are honestly difficult to watch.

Toshiba’s trademark LED indicator is also on full show here – with a bright ring that’s a little more prominent, if not obtrusive, than you’d expect. It can be a bit of an eyesore, whether the TV is turned off (red) or on (green). Features The Toshiba UF3D 55-Inch Smart Fire TV is available in 55-inch size, making it an excellent option for those who want a large-screen TV for their living room. The TV’s compact design and sleek appearance make it an excellent choice for those who want a TV that looks good and takes up minimal space. 4K Resolution Chat Widget offers out-of-the-box cookie consent management, see here: Enabling cookie consent for the Chat widget & Web SDK

Bright HDR scenes additionally reveal the benefits of the 55QA5D63DB’s Quantum Dots, as they appear richly saturated, vibrant and intense, yet also surprisingly rich in nuance and shading subtlety for a TV with such a modest price tag. The Toshiba UF3D 55-Inch Smart Fire TV also supports MicroLED technology, which provides a high-resolution display that delivers an incredibly sharp and detailed picture quality. This technology makes it an excellent option for those who want a TV that offers a premium viewing experience. MicroLED technology also makes it an ideal option for those who wish to use their TV for gaming, as it provides a smooth and immersive gaming experience. QLED Technology In addition to 4K Resolution, the Toshiba UF3D 55-Inch Smart Fire TV also supports 8K Resolution. 8K Resolution provides four times the detail of 4K resolution and sixteen times the detail of Full HD resolution. This high-resolution display delivers an incredibly sharp and detailed picture quality, making it an excellent option for those who want a TV that provides a premium viewing experience. The TV’s 8K Resolution also makes it an ideal option for those who wish to use their TV for gaming, providing a smooth and immersive gaming experience. HDR TechnologyThe LK3C Series is Toshiba UK’s most basic line of 2023 TV. It comes in two sizes, 32-inch and 43-inch, and is a 1080p HD line, not a 4K one. It does come with smarts courtesy of Toshiba itself with its own OS that’ll let you stream whatever content you’d like across a plethora of different services. Plus, you can even watch TikToks on your LK3C TV. The 55QA5D63DB’s combination of a Quantum Dot colour system (which can deliver cleaner, purer, brighter colours than the usual LCD colour filter approach) and direct LED lighting (where the LEDs sit directly behind the screen rather than around its edges) raise hopes of a better performance level than you’d usually get for so little money. The Toshiba UF3D 55-Inch Smart Fire TV is a competitive option in the market when compared to other brands. The TV’s advanced calibration mode and regular software updates set it apart from other brands, and its comprehensive warranty provides added peace of mind. The TV’s compatibility with a wide range of devices and its Alexa Voice Control feature makes it an excellent choice for those who want a large-screen TV that is easy to use and provides an immersive entertainment experience. The rear of the TV is set up for wall-mounting with a 100 x 100mm VESA wall mount, though, if you’d rather sidestep the counter and hang it up closer to your eye level.

As you might expect, these TVs scale up in terms of features and price. However, outside of the QF5D Series, you’ll be getting LCD panels, and across all of Toshiba’s UK TVs you’ll get smart functionality. Dolby Vision is far from the only HDR format the 55QA5D63DB supports. In fact, it also covers all three of the other key HDR formats found in today’s content world: HDR10, HLG and HDR10+. This means that the 55QA5D63DB will take in the best version available of any source it’s presented with. The Toshiba UF3D 55-Inch Smart Fire TV comes with a variety of accessories, including a remote control, power cord, and user manual. The remote control is easy to use and provides access to all of the TV’s features. The power cord is durable and provides a reliable source of power for the TV. The user manual is comprehensive and offers step-by-step instructions for setting up and using the TV. Future The Toshiba UF3D 55-Inch Smart Fire TV supports QLED ( Quantum Dot Light Emitting Diode) technology. QLED technology provides a high-resolution display that delivers an incredibly sharp and detailed picture quality. This technology makes it an excellent option for those who want a TV that offers a premium viewing experience. QLED technology also makes it an ideal option for those who wish to use their TV for gaming, as it provides a smooth and immersive gaming experience. Ambient Mode One notable feature is Dolby Vision – a dynamic HDR format supported by Netflix and often found on 4K Blu-rays, which uses additional metadata to tweak your TV’s brightness and colour output. You won’t be getting a high-end HDR experience with the 43UF3D’s panel and lighting array, but Dolby Vision support will improve the tone mapping of compatible content to get a little closer to the filmmaker’s intent. Sound QualityThe higher native brightness of the 55QA5D63DB also means it suffers less with clipping (loss of subtle shading and details) in the brightest areas than the 50UK4D63DB. We recommend using the Low setting of the TV’s motion processing system, as this slightly eases judder without causing unwanted processing side effects or turning films into soap operas. But if you just can’t cope with the idea of using motion processing, the 55QA5D63DB is still pretty easy to watch without it.
