Blepharitis is a common eye condition where eyelids become inflamed and irritated, often resulting in redness, itching and a gritty sensation. It can affect people of all ages and may lead to crusting of the eyelids, excessive tearing and discomfort. Hycosan Extra has been formulated with 0.2% Hyaluronic Acid, as a result it is four times more viscous than Hycosan Original. This increase in viscosity, which results in a subsequent increase in the duration of action, makes Hycosan Extra ideal for more severe cases of Dry Eye. The drops remain sterile for up to 6 months, and they are preservative and phosphate free. How It Works

It forms a natural dual barrier against environmental allergens such as pollen, dust particles and animal hair.

It’s important to always follow your clinician’s instructions when using Hylo-Forte – typically, it's one drop in each eye three times a day, but you can use it more often if needed. If your symptoms persist, worsen, or you find yourself needing it frequently (more than 10 times a day), ask for advice from your clinician. They might recommend a different treatment for you. What should I do if I make a mistake when using Hylo-Forte? The surface of your eye is covered by a thin layer of tears, called the Tear Film which protects, nourishes and lubricates the eye. This has a dual effect of reducing excessive evaporation and protecting the eye from irritation from allergens to give patients prolonged relief for itchy or burning eyes.

A stabilised tear film with a healthy oil layer offers protection from allergens and tear evaporation. It is ideal for those with mild to moderate dry eye symptoms, as well as those experiencing ocular surface damage or inflammation. Review Hycosan Eye Drops I find them very good when my eyes dry out in warm atmospheres. I feel they are expensive compared to other eye drops. . There are some over-the-counter alternatives to consider as well. Hylo-Tear, for example, contains 0.1% sodium hyaluronate and serves as a tear supplement for mild dry eye symptoms. On the other hand, Hylo-Forte contains 0.2% sodium hyaluronate and is better suited for more severe cases. Place two fingers on the base and your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle and press firmly on the base and release. Repeat this several times untill the first drop is released.
