Description

Each of our shampoo bar selections contains a different blend of natural plant oils, essential oils, and herb infused oils. No two recipes are the same. Expect it to last somewhere between 20 and 50 washes, depending on your hair length, how often you wash your hair and how you store it. Not much is usually needed to achieve a creamy lather and so a little goes a long way. Chances are you know about sulfates– the non-essential stuff that makes shampoo all foamy. Even if you go sulfate-free, though, I can almost guarantee you that your shampoo contains at least one ingredient that you really don’t need.

Our shampoo bars contain no artificial fragrance, color, preservatives, detergents, alcohol, urea, formaldehyde, sodium lauryl sulfate, DEA, propylene glycol - or any of the other synthetic hair care additives. If you don’t plan to give them away as gifts, you’ll have a year’s supply of shampoo bars in one day! Pretty nifty, right? So yes, it’s absolutely worth the time and energy to make your own. Plus, if you follow our recipe above, you can make a bunch of bars at once.

Helpful hint: If I comb through my hair length while it is still lathered and continue to comb as I rinse, the tangles comb out more easily. Since all of our recipes are different, the amount and type of liquid used to make each recipe differ and the more liquid used in the recipe, the more they will shrink as they cure Choose your shampoo bar based on your hair type, knowing that coloring hair may change its texture. Best shampoo for greasy, oily hair: The ultimate deep cleansing shampoo bar, CLEANSE me! is fortified with citrus & sea minerals to deep cleanse your hair & it doubles up as a body bar for your skin too, so is perfect for those who want to keep their showering routine simple.

For more detailed information and great transition tips please read our blog "Tips Adjusting To Shampoo Bars." take out my ponytail and rinse allowing the shampoo to drip down the length of my hair (I have found that this rinsing is enough to clean the length of my hair) Best shampoo bar for normal/dry hair: Our NOURISH! me shampoo bar is enriched with coconut oil and contains a gentler cleanser than bottled shampoo. It's the ultimate nourishing shampoo bar to hydrate & care for dry, dull hair & is also great for grey hair. To do a strand test, shampoo a strand of hair in a non-conspicuous area and rinse. Notice if there are any changes.Another reason hair can seem dry or dull is that it soap is alkaline and your hair prefers a more acidic environment. When washing with soap, you need to keep it happy by restoring hair pH with an acidic rinse after shampooing. You’ll find an easy recipe in the “How To Use Solid Shampoo Bars” section below. The way you shampoo and your hair type can affect hair tangles. I have long, fine, thin hair that is very prone to tangling. Just imagine all of those little strands of hair as very thin strings—now put little burrs on the strings (the open cuticle) and you can see my problem. Although the soaps will not be "spoiled" after that time, you may notice some changes as natural soap ages.

With soap, on the other hand, every part of your body gets an equal amount of cleanser. The same basic principle applies to your hair. 2. Shampoo bars last longer than the bottled stuff There was SO. MUCH. LATHER. We’re talking lather for days. And my hair was so soft afterwards I started to feel a little self conscious about how often I was stroking my own hair. It did leave it a smidge oily, but I loved the overall effect so much I decided to play with the recipe and see if I could change that.In recent years, formulas have come on in leaps and bounds – long gone are the days when they would leave behind a waxy, greasy residue or become a gooey or crumbly mess after just a couple of uses. The outer layer of the hair, the cuticle, is made of overlapping layers of long scales that lie along the surface of the hair like shingles on a roof.

With such a wide range, we truly believe at KinKind we have the best shampoo bars for whatever your hair type. See our best shampoo bar for all hair types; for fine hair, for dandruff, for dry hair, for coloured hair and highlighted hair, for curly and coily hair, for greasy hair, for damaged hair, for grey hair, and for sensitive dry and itchy scalp. And, we also have specially curated collections for men and for kids. While this DIY will take you a little longer to make than, say, a homemade Kaolin hair mask, it’s pretty straightforward and easy, I promise! Supplies/Ingredients:

For color-treated hair, we recommend creating a lather in your hands rather than rubbing the bar directly on your head. Then using your fingers massage the lather into your scalp at the roots of the hair until you work up a really good lather. Create a nice foamy lather by rubbing the wet bar between your hands, a soap pouch, or a natural sponge, and use only the lather to wash your scalp. Men and women with short hair seldom have hair adjustment problems to natural shampoo bars. However, folks with long hair may have to change their shampoo technique when switching from commercial liquid shampoo or synthetic detergent shampoo bars to natural bars.
