About this deal

Multiple drivers have recalled spine-tingling stories of the female hitchhiker they invited into their cars as they drove over the dark, misty summit of the Rhigos Mountain.

The most bizarre of the regular inexplicable occurrence are the disembodied voices that always seem to be chatting one room ahead of Taff’s Well is Wales’ only thermal spring and is in the south of Rhondda Cynon Taf, close to its boundary with Cardiff. It’s the perfect place from which to visit the fairytale Castell Coch (which is surrounded by a huge spooky forest) or the beautiful Garth Mountain walk. When Patti died the castle, which was originally set in 1,000 acres – 11 of which remain – was sold and became a hospital before being used as a home for the elderly. After this reached the end of its life in 1986 the building eventually passed into private ownership. Or perhaps the exhibits themselves have attachments with them such as Hor the Mummy – Egyptian mummified remains gifted to the museum in 1888? It's claimed that the location was used for carrying dead bodies along the road, which previously ended at the River Taff.

Ghost stories are confused, with one 19th century ghost hunter saying that there was said to be a female ghost, but no one was able to explain who she was. I’ve heard another ghost story about the place: that the ghost is a member of the family from the 19th or early 20th Century who went mad at finding out her children had been killed in the Napoleonic/Crimean/First World War. This was one of my favourite ghost stories of Llanelli, but sadly I’ve heard one form or another of it connected with every big house in Llanelli. Stepney Mansion/Llanelly House

Just outside Llantristant is the Royal Mint Experience, offering you the chance to go behind the scenes of this 1,000-year-old institution and learn about coins and more. In the 1990’s, during a live radio broadcast from the inn, a medium was asked for his impressions. He said that he sensed a young woman who had died of consumption, possibly in her early thirties. Plas Teg is a Jacobean country house located in Flintshire, between the towns of Mold and Wrexham. One of the most haunted houses in Wales, this mansion was built in 1610 by Welsh politician Sir John Trevor I (1563 – 1630) for his family and him to live in. Loud bangs are still heard in the dead of night, poltergeist activity is rife, and the most famous of spectres is the classic Lady in White who wanders aimlessly around the maze of hallways the building has to offer. With so much spirit activity that takes place at this location, it truly has earned its name as one of the most haunted places in North Wales Nantclwyd-y-Dre exteriorDuring the Civil War the castle was garrisoned by the Royalists, and saw much action in 1644 when it was captured by the Parliamentarians, re-taken by the Royalists, before falling once more to Cromwell’s forces.
