About this deal

Cypher was present at the final battle of the liberation of Amadis, rallying the overwhelmed defenders in the face of Chaos cultist artillery and human wave assaults. Regan Antigone, the only trooper of the Procell 1st Irregulars who survived, swore an oath to Cypher not to reveal his presence, taking the credit for Cypher's actions. Decades later, 6th Company Master Tigrane learned the truth from now-Colonel Antigone at a social function. Master Tigrane declared Colonel Antigone a traitor for associating with Cypher and summarily executed him [4].

Table of Contents

During the breaking storm, Cypher and his band of Fallen escape from the most secure prison in the Imperium. Now loose in the Imperial Palace, they are hunted by warriors of the Dark Angels, forces of the Adeptus Custodes, and Imperial Assassins. But what are Cypher's intentions? Can anything or anyone be trusted? Cypher is one of the Fallen Angels of the Dark Angels Space Marine Chapter, and one of the members of that Loyalist Chapter believed to have turned to Chaos during the Horus Heresy in the early 31 st Millennium. The Traitors were eventually defeated in a climactic battle that resulted in the destruction of the Dark Angels' homeworld of Caliban, but many of their number survived to be cast into the Warp and scattered throughout space and time by the Ruinous Powers. The events of Luther's betrayal are known only to a select few senior members amongst the Dark Angels and their Successor Chapters, the so-called Inner Circle.I enjoyed the action but felt like some of the motivations went over my head. Is the book more comprehensible after reading other Dark Angels / Fallen lore? Or should we take Basil Exposition’s advice: These defeated survivors are known as the Fallen Angels or just the Fallen, mercilessly hunted down by the elite Deathwing and Ravenwing companies and made to repent by the fearsome Interrogator-Chaplains of the Dark Angels before they are executed. Besides havoc and ruin, there is another trail that Cypher leaves behind; legend and rumour abound after the passage of the mysterious robed figure. The intrigue over his rapid departure is further magnified by the inevitable wave of ensuing questions. Sometimes these interrogations will be conducted by Inquisitors or their agents, while at others Chaos Space Marines seek more knowledge about the cryptic figure that weaves in and out of their strongholds, never revealing his true name or purpose.

Cypher: Lord Of The Fallen (Warhammer 40,000 Characters

Cypher seldom instigates the violent acts that invariably occur when he is present; it is rather that he seems to act as a catalyst, fanning the hatred and mistrust of those around him into a raging fire. Cypher vanishes from the scene as abruptly as he arrives. Worlds burn in his wake.Cypher, armed with his signature ancient master-crafted Plasma Pistol and Bolt Pistol, fighting off his relentless pursuers. Turns out that strike team leader, Malachi, spent time on Terra himself, being lethally tested by the Psykana before being tithed out to the next Chapter in line for a Librarian neophyte: the Dark Angels. Every coincidence thus far is slotting into place too damn neatly. The book overall disappointed me tbh … but it’s short and IF a person is caught up on ALL the current AOO lore there are some strong tie ins. Cypher is one of the most mysterious figures in the galaxy, and this novel sheds light on his motivations and thoughts. Although, told from Cypher’s own point of view, his words are suspect by default...
