led wrote:The biggest problem with the pipsqueak is that there is no control over the airflow, which I'd consider essential. The only way to do so is to bend the baffle inside the stove, which you need to do to get it to burn differing fuels safely (otherwise it will either produce too much smoke or burn way too hot). My sister is going to use the boat for weekends so heating essential. The boat has a Kabota 2 cylinder diesel inboard. it runs and sounds fine. Any timing belt to worry about etc? to match the flue to a 100mm (4") roof collar use a thin metal sleeve (maybe a piece of 4" will slip over the 80mm?) and silicone high-temperature flue sealant. If you're looking for a small stove for recreational use, and don't need high output or long burn times, the Pipsqueak might be a good candidate.

Pipsqueak Small Cast Iron Stove – Pipsqueak Stoves

However, the fact that it has the rear flue exit, and because of its heavy-duty construction, the Pipsqueak overall gets a very good rating.

This month, the Pipsqueak is in the bedroom of an old house, in the mountain; it's 2.5m inos flue pipe going in the 9m chimney: too much draft They are cute, and can be obtained quite cheaply, but I'd really say that it's worth getting something with more control. it comes with a dinky companion set and smallest ash tray ever... its brill and will sing its praises. A few years ago I bought a Davey Hotpot as the Pipsqueak was no longer in production. Have they started making them again then? Or have you seen a second hand one for sale? The pipsqueak can crank out some heat, but since it's difficult to control with the built-in air controls, we wouldn't consider it a high performing stove.

SMALL STOVE REVIEW: Salamander – The Pipsqueak MK3 Stove

It was about 2 years ago. I mentioned it on here (can't find the thread now) and someone came and collected it. She no longer posts so I've forgotten the name but it was something to do with cats. I didn't want money for it, just some help with getting it out, she arrived at Alvecote, rounded up some volunteers (I knew nobody at the time) and got it off in a trice. Very nice (and efficient) lady. I’ve seen it fitted in vans (as above), small cabins, boats (including canal boats), RVs, mobile homes, school bus conversions, and as a wood stove for tiny houses. I’ve even seen someone using it as a heater for their home office that is separate from the main house! Most people looking to buy a stove for their boat or camper want to also be able to cook on it, so it’s definitely a benefit of the Pipsqueak. For example, Tiny Wood Stoves used to sell it (as you can see in the video above), but I think that was before they began manufacturing their own Dwaft wood stoves. While it's built around Dan's passion for chainsaws, wood stoves, fireplaces, axes, and so on, Naomi also contributes her many skills to make it all come together. I did look at the Davey hot pot & noted that MtB had one & Magnetman from reading older threads & it does seem to be very good . The biggest pro is that the Pipsqueak does the job – it will heat your small space and be useful for cooking! This stove has a rear exit flue and the hot plate on the top can be used to boil a kettle or heat food.
