Valerie chose the Suite Prestige Ventoux to wear her beautiful white wedding dress, accompanied by her mother and her sister. In a few minutes, Valerie and Antoine will exchange their vows in this magnificent village of Crillon le Brave in front of their friends and family members. After this emotional moment, all the guests and the newlyweds leave for the Crillon le Brave hotel to celebrate the union of Valerie and Antoine during the vin d'horreur on the terrace of La Table du Ventoux offering the best of Provence. Fortunately that evening, the mistral did not rise, Valerie and Antoine and their guests were able to organize the buffet on the terrace enjoying the magnificent sunset on the Mont Ventoux. The decoration is sumptuous: a floral wall was installed for the occasion. Valerie and Antoine, wanted a wedding in accordance with the place of reception is a Provencal theme. Claire has been recognized as one of the top wedding photographers in Europe and her work has appeared in Vogue, Style Me Pretty, Love My Dress, French Wedding Style and many more well-known publications. There are many interesting characters in this book, that help to add colour to the story, and the market scenes make me want to go and visit similar places, too! This was your typical Hannah/Laura buddy read where the planned reading schedule goes to pot on the first night *snorts*. So, after a trying week at work I had a date with my sofa and the book on the Saturday and I wasn’t moving! I have read all of Katie Fforde’s novels over the last twenty years or so, and A Wedding in Provence has a lot of the familiar elements that make her books so memorable. Although it features several characters from her previous book, it won’t matter if you have not read it. It stands on its own just fine, but some things will make more sense if you do. Telling the story of Alexandra who takes on a nannying job as a change of career, in a French chateau. How will she learn to cope with the three children of the French count who is the father to the three, as she finds herself falling for him?

It comes as no surprise that Provence is a well-loved wedding destination, known for it’s lovely sunny weather, colourful countryside, delicious food and wine (most notably Provençal Rosé) and its rolling lavender fields. Plus its prime location means you can choose between either the beautiful coastline or pretty rolling countryside hills as the ideal spot for your wedding day. Of course I had watched every TV programme there was about chateaux, but interestingly, the one I created was quite unlike any of the ones I saw.Alexandra is on her way from London to finishing school in Switzerland when she stops off in Paris for 24 hours. Whilst sightseeing she meets Donna. Alexandra comes to Donna’s rescue as her bag of shopping splits and she helps her to carry the escaped vegetables!
