My main machine is a MacBook Pro 15″ from 2015. It’s a beast, still even today being a processing power house that does everything I need it to. Except for one thing really – it’s not very portable. Do you see faint vertical lines baked into the digitizer? Mine has them even when switched on and you can see them with daylight. Is this typical?

Hi Steve- I have a flex with the expansion cover and slot but following your links to the WD drive I wondered if you could confirm the actual size of the drive? Is it an 80mm or smaller. I would be happy with the WD but it looks a bit on the large size for the space available. I have a GeoFlex. Seemingly the same as yours, but then again not quite so! There is no panel on the external casing, and no two screws to remove.

For me, I didn’t have to do anything in the BIOS/UEFI settings. It just showed up as a SATA Port when I restarted Windows. But you do need to open up the Disk Management application and partition and reformat the drive into something usable. So, does the GeoFlex 2-in-1 laptop do what I want it to, or was the sales person from Currys correct? No, unfortunately it’s one of the only things I couldn’t get to work and it’s daft. I rarely used it in tablet to be fair so it didn’t bother me greatly. Bought this laptop, and I can confirm it’s really easy to upgrade the storage on it. In my case I used a 240 GB WD Green m.2 Sata3 SSD. Worked as soon as I pushed in. All that remains to be done is to create a (or more) partition(s) , and that’s it. Try last Linux MX. On SSD disk working prety good, much faster like Win 10, and use just of 25% RAM on start.

This depends on your level of computer experience. If you’re familiar with tinkering around with hardware then it’s super easy to upgrade the storage in the Geo Flex 2 in 1. But it helps to know what you’re dealing with. Fortunately, this is something I’ve just done and I can guide you through what you’ll need and how to do it. I’m having huge problems with my geo flex it is asking for external storage media to be inserted. Doesn’t work at all. Any suggestions? The eMMC is soldered to the board and didn’t occupy the M.2 slot. It was extra. So, I had 32G eMMC and 128G M.2 SATA.

A 64gb one now exists so thinking of buying that. Would you recommend it as the right choice for a laptop for college use ? Bearing in mind I definitely want a lightweight laptop (I also like the idea of it being touch screen but ive never had a touchscreen one before is the feature that useful?) Watching Netflix on a train or playing Minecraft are equally well handled and for the money I really think you actually just can’t beat this little box. With the widest range of software and peripheral device compatibility available, Windows 10 is the only choice for productivity.
