Kuchera, Ben (January 17, 2018). "What is Nintendo teasing for the Switch? (update)". Polygon. Archived from the original on January 18, 2018. New reports affirm the rumors that Nintendo has started to show its next-generation console -- referred to colloquially by fans as Nintendo Switch 2 -- behind closed doors at a recent video game industry expo. It reportedly featured tech demos highlighting features like Nvidia DLSS support and ray tracing. Lee, Dami (April 19, 2018). "Programming a song on Nintendo Labo with Toy-Con Garage took all of my brainpower". The Verge . Retrieved April 19, 2018.

Really think they priced this wrong. Can't help thinking the model should have been you could buy each item seperately at a much lower price and the software be free. More impressive is the Toy-Cons’ finished construction. While they don’t feel completely solid, they seem remarkably durable. The cardboard stays folded and dropping a Toy-Con causes no damage. Will they stand up to a child’s less delicate playstyle? We can’t say, but if you don’t throw them across a room, we’d wager they’ll be usable for a long time. As we said, the fun in Labo is in building things, and there is more to it after you finish building the Toy-Cons. The real fun lies not in the games, but in making unguided creations using Labo’s toolset, the “Toy-Con Garage.” In the Garage I think it's wrong to consider these Labo kits as traditional games. They are a combination of toys, arts & crafts kit and computer games.Italian Video Game Awards Nominees and Winners". Italian Video Game Awards. April 11, 2019. When these people come in every single day and rag on the switch, with basically no good argument beyond I hate Nintendo, it’s time to hit that button. This guy is a know-nothing. The best thing about them so far is that they’re customisable (some cool paint jobs) and you can make some rudimentary toys/games but you could do all that with any old cardboard. The number of potential functions, which include vibration, lighting up your screen, taking a picture with the IR camera, and musical notes, are finite, and have limited customization options. Mike Epstein/Digital Trends Calling this a failure based on less than a week of sales and adults reviewing it solely as games with really weird Ikea-like controllers...lolThanks for reviewing them separately, 1 average review score for both wouldnt have been fair to either one. Nintendo Labo is released as individual Labo Kits, each containing a set of pre-made cardboard cut-outs and other materials, used to make one or more "Toy-Con", and a Nintendo Switch game card, which contains interactive instructions on how to assemble the Toy-Con and software that the Toy-Con can interact with. Once each Toy-Con is constructed, players insert the main Nintendo Switch display and/or one or both of the Joy-Con controllers according to the instructions. Each Toy-Con functions differently in the ways it interacts with either the Joy-Con or the main display. For example, the piano Toy-Con's keystrokes are read by the Right Joy-Con controller's infrared sensor to identify notes being played, while robotic Toy-Con move using HD Rumble from the Joy-Con controllers, which are controlled via the touchscreen. Players may freely decorate the cardboard parts using coloring pens, tape, and other materials, while more experienced users can invent new ways to play with each Toy-Con. [1] [2] The game software provides instructions on how the Toy-Con works with the Switch, such as describing the fundamentals of infrared sensing.
