Description

Borax and OxiClean are good for spot cleaning, but I prefer BISSELL DeepClean + Refresh for cleaning the whole rug. This video might help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_xG5KyhLi4 Unlike OxiClean, borax is not a brand; it’s an ingredient used to formulate products. It’s used in various household cleaning products and stain removers, and it’s also found in specialty toothpaste, skincare products, and even ceramic glazes. Here’s a list of 19 popular products containing borax. It continued to be endorsed by Mays until his death in 2009; the product is now seen endorsed by Mays' friend and co-worker Anthony Sullivan. Mays and Sullivan were featured on the show Pitchmen on the Discovery Channel in which the product was featured on several occasions. But what’s the difference? When should you use each? Is one safer or more effective than the other?

Things to Clean with Oxiclean - Clean and Scentsible 7 Things to Clean with Oxiclean - Clean and Scentsible

I’ve actually used OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover for years in my regular laundry routine. Extra stain-fighting power is always needed around here. I didn’t really realize though, how many different cleaning tasks it can be used for. I’ve been really happy with all of the results, and OxiClean™ has come to my rescue many times! Borax has several uses, but it’s associated mostly with laundry. It can be used as a spot-stain remover or as a detergent aid.

Other Products: You can buy pure borax, but it’s used as an ingredient in various products, including glass cleaners and laundry detergents. OxiClean offers a versatile line of cleaning products, including powders, sprays, and detergents.

OxiClean Directions: 12 Things Not to Do with OxiClean OxiClean Directions: 12 Things Not to Do with OxiClean

If you are using OxiClean with laundry, fill the scoop between lines 2-4 per gallon of warm water. Submerge your clothing in the water and let it soak for up to 6 hours. Then wash as directed.OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover works in any temperature water, but best in warm to hot water. Do NOT use boiling water. You can see here how dirty our carpets were. The left side is the cleaned carpet and the right is still dirty. The light spot to the right is where I had cleaned up a pet stain earlier in the week. When you mix OxiClean and water, you’ll hear and see fizzing. Those oxygen bubbles help loosen and remove stains from fabrics, hence the name OxiClean. Borax and OxiClean do not expire as long as they are kept in a dry environment. If they are exposed to humidity, they will crystalize and harden. Bottom Line: Should You Use Borax or OxiClean? The formula varies by product, but most OxiClean products contain sodium percarbonate as the active ingredient.
