In terms of long-term ownership and maintenance, the TK800 doesn’t come with an extra lamp, but the included lamp is rated to 4,000 hours in full lamp mode and 15,000 hours in “SmartEco” mode, which adjusts the brightness of the lamp based on image content to save lamp life. That’s less than the standard hours offered by the HT2550, but understandable given how much brighter the TK800 is. In any case, you’ll probably get years of screen time before you need to consider lamp replacement. Performance TK800M’s lightweight design and sleek, compact profile accentuates beautiful aesthetics as well as intuitive functionality and eco-friendly design. A chic addition to your living room décor with easy setup, TK800M makes your home entertainment simple and comfortable for friends and family to enjoy parties, sports, movies, and gaming. With 3LCD lighting technology, the Epson Home Cinema 3700 creates large displays with extra brightness and vivid colors. This unique three-chip design means the projector is able to match its color brightness to its white brightness, so you get a consistent, even display. Plus, it features proprietary technology called Epson Image Enhancement that sharpens details and refines smoothness in high-action scenes. This is a 1080p 3D projector, but it also features a 4K enhancement to simulate higher resolution by shifting pixels diagonally.

Passive is a newer type of technology that uses polarization in both the display and the active shutter glasses to display the 3D effect. The Vava 4K projector is an excellent addition to our lineup of the best 3D projectors, featuring the newest features and technology to create a super crisp and amazingly detailed picture. This option is, by far, the best 4K 3D projector your money can buy. For starters, the already-great 4K resolution is made even better with HDR10 support and ALPD 3.0 technology, which increases lighting efficiency and brightness. The Vava 4K Pro UHD projector also features an amazing 3,000:1 native contrast ratio, which is even better than a movie theater’s native 2,000:1 contrast ratio. Plus, with its laser lighting technology, this projector requires less maintenance overall. Sport Picture Mode renders realistic skin colors and warm tones with balanced green and blue for stunning big-screen projection of fast-paced indoor sports action. And Sport Sound Mode accentuates the announcer's commentary and clear acoustic details of the cheering crowd in an indoor arena. The TK800 has an optical system designed for 4K resolution, which means it uses high-grade glass for superior image quality. A precision seven-element, four-group lens array allows for greater light penetration at higher resolutions, and a low-dispersion lens coating minimizes chromatic aberrations and allows for improved clarity. In contrast to 4K TVs, 4K Pro UHD projectors are still relatively expensive, especially when compared to 1080p options. The number of lumens in a projector directly affects the quality and brightness of light that the projector can emit. It is important to determine what you are going to use the projector for, at what distance, and what the natural lighting conditions are, as this will determine how many lumens will be required to ensure that the 3D projection is effective. Place the BenQ projector at the right distance to maximize visual enjoyment, key in the number and let the “Throw Distance Calculator” do the math for you. Yes. If you’re looking for a home theater projector that can compete with ambient light and project great picture, the TK800 is among the best you’ll find.

While we always recommend placing any projector in as dark a room as possible, we did notice that the TK800 did better in brighter areas than the HT2550 did, especially when the projector was placed in Vivid TV mode. While we preferred the better color accuracy of cinema mode, which brought out the most depth and saturation in the content we we viewed, Vivid TV mode did the best to compete with ambient light, and we’d not hesitate to choose this mode if we weren’t easily able to darken our space or wait until sundown to watch our favorite shows and movies. Even the PJ's sound performance is reasonable.
The 5W speaker – and resonant sound chamber it’s housed in – deliver a clean, well-rounded soundstage. There’s a dollop of bass, and the sound projects some distance from the chassis, although inevitably it still doesn’t seem attached to the screen/pictures. zoom extends available space with a flexible range of throw distances for big-screen entertainment without the hassle of complicated installation. The projector has excellent bright-room performance with 3,000 lumens of lamp brightness. This is plenty of brightness for use in rooms with any kind of ambient light. The TK800 projector also offers excellent colors that are vivid and accurate, with 92% Rec. 709 color space. The picture is also incredibly detailed with both 4K ultra HD resolution and 1080p resolution when in 3D mode. Be aware that you might experience some rainbow effect with this BenQ DLP HD projector, due to its 4K color wheel, but it is minimal overall. We had no problem installing the TK800 ourselves, but if you have a more complex setup that requires new cable runs, ceiling mounting, and various other fine adjustments, we always recommend hiring a professional to save you long-term headaches. Just like the HT2550 model, the TK800 is very compact and light, making it easy to take outside for movie nights, or for other portable use.

The Optoma UHD50X offers tons of features and functionality that should spark even the most hardcore gamer’s interest. It’s one of the fastest 4K, 3D gaming projectors because of its blazing fast 16ms of input lag at 1080p resolution and 26ms at 4K resolution. While this may not seem fast if you’re used to gaming monitors, this is one of the most minimal lag times you’ll find on a projector. It also features extra-smooth 240Hz of motion handling. This means every one of your games will be clear, detailed, and smooth, even if you enjoy sports, FPS, and racing games. You can also play games in 3D if you have 3D-compatible games in your library.

The AWOL Vision LTV-2500 is a short-throw projector, which means you’ll only need mere inches between the unit and your screen for it to create a screen size of up to 120 inches. This 3D DLP projector is also designed incredibly well with a low-profile body that won’t obstruct your view. With built-in stereo surround Dolby Atmos speakers, you won’t need to connect to an external sound system unless you want more power. A 3D projector uses specialized technology that allows it to produce a three-dimensional image on a two-dimensional surface. The viewer is able to see depth from a 3D projector, unlike a traditional projector. As you’re searching for a good 3D projector, passive 3D technology is hard to find, since it usually involves dual projector setups and expensive silver screens.

BenQ TK800 4K HDR projector review | Home Cinema Choice

There’s a typical set of connections at the rear, that includes two HDMI inputs: the first is HDCP 2.2 compliant and should be used for any 4K/ HDR sources, while the second is HDCP 1.4 and can be used for high definition. There’s also a PC/VGA input, an analogue audio in and out, a 12V trigger, an RS232 serial connector, and two USB ports. In the case of the latter, the first is for service updates, while the second can be used to power other devices. BenQ TK800M is a high brightness 4K HDR projector designed for big screen entertainment in a well-lit room, perfect for sports fans. The main selling point of the BenQ TK800 is that it supports 4K and while this is true, it’s worth pointing out that the projector’s DLP chip is not 3840x2160 pixels. It uses XPR technology, which essentially takes a 1920x1080 pixel DLP chip and flashes the image four times in incredibly fast succession to create an image with a perceived resolution of over eight million pixels. Amazingly this actually works, and even with test patterns the images appear to be 4K in terms of resolution. While it seems like a bit of a star on paper, it doesn't really look like one. It’s far from ugly with its matt-white body, rounded edges and quirky blue fascia, but there’s nothing about it that really shouts ‘cutting edge’. At least at only 35cm wide it doesn't take up too much space, and its insignificant weight (4.2kg) makes it ripe for ceiling/bookshelf mounting. In recognition of the TK800’s target market, BenQ has included game and football picture modes. The former is definitely useful, reducing the input lag and delivering a more responsive gaming experience. The latter is less successful, boosting the colours and the processing, resulting in an image that appears too artificial.
