Description

Added small hexagonal shape to the rear of the cowling. This makes it slot into the X-Carriage even more, thanks @probably-Erwins-Cat for pointing that out. Closes #3 If you accidentally damage it. You can also use a 3D printer to print the main body yourself. https://github.com/Annex-Engineering/Sherpa_Mini-Extruder Install Heatset-Inserts into Spacers, if your Extruder gets screwed down from the top also install Heatsets into the Cowling

Installation tutorial & STL https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1LVL6v0iTNmk36HNwWPd6cIDwvMeIWmEx We believe the Sherpa mini loaders will compliment our MultiOne compact loader franchise and due to the increasing demand for labour and time-saving machines we anticipate these machines will be a huge success as we grow our compact loader business. The Mini-AfterSherpa is an alternate toolhead for Voron V0.1 and similar printers ( Micron, Flying Zero, Salad Fork, etc) that use the Mini-Afterburner-style X carriage. It offers flexibility and extruder choice with additional convenience. Features Direct-drive extruders Even a decade later, homebrew 3D printing still doesn’t stop when it comes to mechanical improvements. These last few months have been especially kind to lightweight direct-drive extruders, and [lorinczroby’s] Orbiter Extruder might just set a paradigm for a new kind of direct drive extruder that’s especially lightweight. I recommend reading this post from Orbiter author to better understand all the benefits of this extruder. Sherpa Mini

Wantai probably has 2 or 3. I've seen references to people using Wantai 36BYGH218 with the orbiter. There's a good chance that Stepperonline has 1 or 2 NEMA14 models that have the same size spur gear, but I haven't seen any references of people using one of them with the mini extruders.

For Dragon or Phaetus Dragonfly BMO, use the M2.5 bolts that came with the hotend. The following diagram will help determine which holes to use for your hotend. possibilities, overall from my perspective is not an optimum solution. I personally prefer a design in which everything is bolted This is the Sherpa Mini Extruder, a ground up design developed by Anlin and the team at Annex Engineering. It's a dual geared hobbed filament extruder designed for use with any printer. It features a 50:10 or a 50:8 gear driven design to provide torque while being able to be near silent. You must perform your own tuning to get the best results. Its small size and wide range of available attachments makes it the ideal machine for many industries and work environments ranging from farm/equestrian yards and stables to tree surgeons/arborists to landscaping/paving contractors and demolition contractors. For Material Requirements, Print Settings and How to Interpret the file naming structure, please see: "Print_Settings_and_File_Key.txt" The groove-mount E3D V6 and Zodiac Dragonfly BMO also both share a main body, but you have to print the slide-in mount that goes with your hotend. Some of our products may be more expensive than others, but please believe in our quality and believe that you will not regret when you receive the goods. For the groove-mount V6 or the Zodiac Dragonfly BMO, slide the groove at the top of the heatsink into the main Mini-AfterSherpa body, then secure it in place by sliding the other mount part in behind the toolhead.

Sherpa Mini* is a compact and lightweight open source extruder. It’s using BMG components with a smaller NEMA 14 stepper motor. Due to its compact design and a smaller stepper it weights just 127g. Sherpa Mini uses BMG gears but due to different pinion gear on the NEMA 14 stepper has 5:1 rather than 3:1 gearing ratio. It’s an easy upgrade option for people who already have a BMG extruder: you need to get a NEMA 14 stepper and print a few parts. There are a variety of motors that should work. I don't know enough about the choices to make really good choices, but I have found that sometimes lower power motors are better for acceleration and jerk. (It has something to do with inductance, inertia, etc - but I'm not an electrical engineer so I don't quite follow the reasoning.) Mine came with a long stepper extension cable, so I ran that up to the mainboard and shortened the stepper’s cable so they can be unplugged along with everything else to remove the effector. I should be using washers on the Sherpa mounting bolts as you did. 🙂 I’ll add those next time I work on it. Attach the Mini-AfterSherpa to your X carriage with the M3×35mm bolts. Route the hotend wires to either side of the toolhead, and make sure not to crush them when you're tightening the M3 bolts. The Mini-AfterSherpa includes two slots for zip ties to aid in cable management and strain relief. They're much easier to access and route cables through than the zip tie slots on the X carriage (and if you're using an aluminum X carriage like the one from Funssor, then it doesn't even have any zip tie slots!)
