For example, now I know why the toilet at work won't flush properly (there isn't enough water in the tank to start the siphon effect). A few of the machines are dated since this book is 30 years old, but most stuff is still very applicable. It includes over 400 easy-to-understand articles, richly illustrated with over 4000 photos, artworks, and animations, covering how things work, cutting-edge science, cool gadgets, and computers. An updated edition with machines and technologies that have become commonplace since the book's last major revision in 2016.

This brilliant book explains and explores the essential terms and key concepts in the world of business, finance, and company management. The illustrations just pop out at the reader grabbing attention and pointing to exciting information. The Way Things Work explains every machine you've ever wanted to understand, as well as some you've probably never thought about before.

Lonely Planet Kids' How Animals Build is a beautifully illustrated lift-the-flap hardback that explores the incredible w.Aunque algunas de las explicaciones no las entendía (recuerdo perfectamente mirar al magnetoscopio para enterarme más tarde de que era un vídeo), sí servía como puerta para investigar más sobre cualquier tema, pues te daba un montón de vocabulario relacionado.
