About this deal

Everything about this high chair felt easy – it’s easy to put together, easy to clean, and even easier to fold away. The Inglesina Fast Table Chair is a game-changer when it comes to traveling — it clips onto most tables (so long as they don't have an apron or lip) so you can bring it to restaurants, Airbnbs or a friend's house. While we could rate how long it took to wipe down a chair in our Lab, we also leaned on user reviews for this. When it’s “just” a chair, it allows a slightly older child to sit directly at the table, and the step gave our five-year-old tester the independence to get up and down from dinner, letting him sit more comfortably than if he was on an adult seat. Whether you’re looking for a traditional chair or something compact for travel, check out our 10 favourite high chair picks here and get ready to delight in meal times together.

of using the tray: Some high-chair trays can be removed with one hand, but most require an adult to pinch both sides and lift. We gave points to high chairs with easy-to-remove trays and made sure that if there was a tray-within-a-tray feature, the top tray fit in a dishwasher. Finally, a big selling point is that you can purchase Play Legs and turn this into the cutest living room chair for your preschooler when they outgrow the high chair. The chair alone can only be used from the age of three, so you may want to consider getting the 4-in-1 package, which also includes a baby set (an insert and tray) for when your baby can sit up, and a bouncer nest suitable from birth. If you’re seeing all these signs pretty consistently, then chances are your baby is ready to move from a liquid to solid diet. The soft, padded PVC-lined chair not only offers a bouncy cushioned seat, but it’s removable and wipeable, and has an adjustable back rest for maximum comfort. They are also, of course, the most expensive – and be aware that, in this group in particular, you’ll need to pay extra for everything except the chair frame itself (including newborn accessories, baby seats, trays and even safety harnesses), so make sure this is included in your budget. In toddlerhood, the seat and the base can separate, so the seat can become a booster that sits on top of a regular dining chair. It was designed with Montessori principles in mind; your baby can join the rest of the family at the table and learn to eat food off of that surface.

The seat height, footrest height and seat depth are all fully and independently adjustable and Cybex say the seat can be used up to the age of 99, so it will last through childhood and beyond. Depending on your child’s height and confidence with sitting, you’ll be using your high chair three to five times daily for around 18 months. One of the only downsides is it is not intended to last beyond toddlerhood or 15kg, so it has a limited lifespan. We love that you can remove the very generously sized tray for a thorough cleaning, which is also helpful if you want to draw the high chair right up to the table. The chair and footrest offered our mini-tester a super-snug and comfortable fit, and will keep them brilliantly upright from as young as six months. And testers tell us that, even though the footprint is pretty standard, they tend to trip over the wooden legs as they pass by in the kitchen. What’s also great is the nanotex fabric that covers the seat – we found it easy to wipe clean for most messes (we’re looking at you, avocado), and the cushion is really nicely padded. They might also be a good choice if your child spends regular time at a relative’s house but the relative doesn’t have space for a full-time chair, if you know they’ll eat better on holiday in a chair made for them, or if your kitchen is small and you want something that won’t take up any extra floor space.
