Snakes have a bit of a reputation of being slimy and creepy (not true, but that’s the rep they’ve got). This redundancy can make them resistant to failure because they can continue to operate even if parts of their body are destroyed. Through a series of experiments it was found that the snakes partitioned their bodies into three sections.
