It doesn't have the high UV rating but it is made to be a sun/insect shade and the loola hood comes down quite low so his face is pretty much shaded anyway. We used it from 4 months to 18 months It was great as it stayed put on windy days and couldn't be used as a lance to spear passers by when DS got older. DS doesn't seem to notice the protect-a-bub as it's really just an extra "hood" - proved invaluable on hols! Shielding not just your baby’s skin and face but their eyes, with a UPF10 glare shield and double mesh layer beneath the main visor, helps to protect from the sun when the visor is pulled back.

I don't think I've quite mastered using it with the mesh rolled up as it seemed to be quite a funny shape and if I didn't have the pushchair hood up, the whole thing touched the front of Imogen's head, so I'm sure I need a bit more practice on that bit.Jacks I didn't know what one was either but looked it up earlier after seeing this post I think the web address is www. The best thing about it is that it packs up so small (it comes in a little bag)so I just keep it in the pushchair tray all the time in case I need it. No experience, but I have bought a Shade-a-Babe and am now worried that it will not block out enough sunlight I'd be interested to see what people post about this.
