Aethercraft - Aether-gold - Geldraad - High Airs - Kharadron Code - Sky-fleet - Sky-path - Steamhead Pioneers Base coat wood with Mournfang Brown and then shade with Nuln Oil . after shading use more Mournfang Brown to draw on wood grain. Then use Karak Stone to highlight and add more wood grain.

The other parts of the models are more consistent – the shiny insectoid carapace uses Gryph-Charger Grey over a Leadbelcher basecoat, with added highlights of thin striped Stormhost Silver , all followed up with a wash of Terradon Turquoise thinned with Contrast Medium . The meat and bone bits are Flesh Tearers Red over Wraithbone, with Pallid Wych Flesh highlights. The meaty parts then got a thinned Volupus Pink wash, while the talons and hooves were finished with a wash of Gryph-Charger Grey. Gav: Termagants and Neurogaunts Base coat with Rakarth Flesh . Highlight with Corax White and further highlight with White Scar . Also use White Scar around the port hole to give the impression it's glass They venerate Grimnir, Grungni and Valaya as ancestors of their race, but some go as far as to actually worship them, having shrines in their homes. The last time I painted a Tyranid model for my custom hive fleet was pre-Contrast paint, so it was nice to try out the new colours and find some much faster ways to get to a good result (shout-out to Striking Scorpion Green for that vivid tropical emerald). Contrast paints and Tyranids are such a perfect match. Darcy: Termagant Experiments Time of Reaving: Following the establishment of the Kharadron Code, the fleets of the city begin sweeping out to establish new cloud mines and to expand their frontiers. [1]

I have had a great deal of fun experimenting with using various real-world colour schemes that can be found in nature for my Tyranids. I’ve so far attempted schemes based on the following: The remaining miniatures from the box were painted up to match my existing Tyranid force. I have quite a large army of these guys already, as well as a subservient Genestealer Cult, so I’ll be dropping these straight into that collection – which actually featured in the Crusade section of the previous Tyranids codex.Iron Hands: As mentioned, Barak-Nar Burgundy is a common colour for Iron Hands models. You can use it to paint the shoulder pads and other armor details on your Iron Hands models. Following the Necroquake, forces from Barak-Nar aid the city of Lethis against the hordes of Nighthaunts commanded by the Mortarch of Grief but are unable to save it. [2a] Base coat with Barak-Nar Burgundy . Shade with Nuln Oil . Highlight with Screamer Pink and then further highlight with Pink Horror . Base coat with Retributor Armour and shade with Guilliman Flesh . For the deep recesses use Cryptek Armourshade Gloss . Then highlight all the gold with Stormhost Silver .

Bulwark Norgrimsson leads the fleets of the city to defeat the Waaagh of the Great Ghazbag, in the wake of that victory, Barak-Nar claims the Gleaming Banks. [1] Barak-Dren - Barak-Durmmaz - Barak-Glöm - Barak-Jazbaz - Barak-Khazzar - Barak-Khrum - Barak-Kling - Barak-Laskar - Barak-Mhornar - Barak-Minoz - Barak-Mor - Barak-Nar - Barak-Shunti - Barak-Skarren - Barak-Thargar - Barak-Thrund - Barak-Thryng - Barak-Ungrin - Barak-Urbaz - Barak Var - Barak-Zilfin - Barak-Zon - Barak-Zhoff - Karak Ohrgaf - Toba Lorchai I painted the off-yellow skin in slightly different ways on my Barbgaunts, Psychophage, and Von Ryan’s Leapers – employing various combos of Plaguebearer Flesh and thinned-down Nazdreg Yellow over a Wraithbone base, with highlights ranging from Dorn Yellow to Flayed One Flesh – but they all still look like closely-related beasties. I’ve got yet another approach in mind for my Termagants… I find the metallic sprays from GW tend to be a little on the transparent side, so an initial undercoat of grey helps.

Blue Malayan Coral Snake : The effect on the body was achieved by using thinned Frostheart Contrast with a White Scar drybrush, wet blending with Blood Angels Red Contrast for the head and tail. Scales are Leviadon Blue with a Blue Horror drybrush. Memorial of Triumph: The name of every privateer that returned home with treasure is inscribed upon it. [3f] Base coat the boiler with Screaming Bell . Shade with Cryptek Armourshade Gloss and then clean up again with Screaming Bell . No highlight at this point as we will do all the metallic highlights together. Base coat with Iron Hands Steel . For the axe head and the plaque on the top of the barrel shade with Gryph-charger Grey . For everything else shade with Nuln Oil .
