My main complaint here is that StudioCanal should have re-worded their opening credits that appear after the StudioCanal logo and before the Carolco logo on both the 4K UHD and 2D Blu-ray, which remind us that “This 3D version has been produced by StudioCanal.

Seamless branching could have (and easily has, on other Ultra HD Blu-ray releases) been implemented here to allow for access to the 16 minute longer Special Edition Version and 19 minute longer Extended Special Edition Versions, both of which are present on the accompanying Blu-ray (along with the Theatrical Cut), and it's arguably this lazy omission that speaks more towards the likelihood of a later re-issue than any of the controversies surrounding the video. Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more. When not writing, he plays games, watches movies and professional wrestling, and spends time with his two Golden Retrievers. Special Booklet about TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY with an essay by Empire Film journalist Chris Hewitt and a new interview with James Cameron. Then there's the colour scheme where, again there are changes that are either mistakes or possibly stylistic choices on the part of the director. There are strong edges, but other areas of the picture appear almost CG like in their lack of really fine detail. The material on this site may not be reproduced, distributed, transmitted, cached or otherwise used except with the prior written permission of The Digital Bits, Inc. The fine blonde fuzz of facial hair on Linda Hamilton's face in close-up when she's doing pull-ups; the reflections in the sunglasses during the motorcycle/truck chase sequence; the intricacies of the hair on almost everybody's head; the authentic rippling texture of the bullet holes in Arnie's leather jacket. Dialogue is clear and understandable throughout, and bass response is even and not overbearing, but, again, it is nowhere near to what a more modern soundmix could achieve. Comparisons with the 1080p platter show little overt difference in how bright highlights (often, in this movie, glinting chrome) are handled. And, along with Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park, it should also always be remembered as marking the beginning of the groundbreaking years in computer-generated imagery, heralding what would soon become a common practice in visual special effects and photography. The various companies around the globe that hold the home video rights to the film are now releasing the movie in 4K UHD Blu-ray, 2D Blu-ray, and (in select regions that do not include the US) a 3D Blu-ray version. James Cameron's Terminator 2 Judgement Day is one of the best movies of the '90s, so why is it so damn hard to get a quality home video release?Sarah Connor’s ordeal is only just beginning as she struggles to protect her son, John — the future leader of the human resistance against the machines — from a new Terminator, sent back in time to eliminate him while he’s still a child. Terminator 2: Judgement Day is the first of director James Cameron’s films to arrive on 4K UHD Blu-ray with a new 4k transfer, but the discs have some sloppy authoring (after being delayed) and many of the bonus features from previous releases on other formats are missing.
